Background: Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), including metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH), is a leading cause of chronic liver disease worldwide. Current guidelines recommend fibrosis-based risk stratification using noninvasive tools such as the Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) index in patients with metabolic risk factors, followed by secondary assessment (e.g., transient elastography or enhanced liver fibrosis(ELF) testing) for those with elevated scores. Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a leading cause of gastrointestinal-related hospitalizations in the United States, accounting for approximately 300,000 emergency department visits annually. It is characterized by parenchymal and peripancreatic fat necrosis accompanied by inflammation. The clinical diagnosis of AP is based on elevated serum amylase and lipase levels, characteristic imaging findings, and epigastric pain often radiating to the back. Introduction: Microscopic colitis is an idiopathic, inflammatory form of colitis that is characterized by a normal macroscopic appearance of bowel but abnormal histological appearance on microscopy. Microscopic colitis can be subdivided into two histological subtypes: collagenous and lymphocytic. The collagenous subtype is characterized by proliferation of collagenous connective tissue that forms a thick subepithelial collagen band while the lymphocytic subtype is characterized by lymphocytic infiltrates and little to no proliferation of connective tissue. Classically, microscopic colitis presents with chronic, nonbloody, watery diarrhea lasting more than one month. Improving recovery outcomes for these procedures is critical, and emerging research suggests that microbiome-targeted therapies could play a key role. There is growing evidence linking spinal health with gut microbiota alterations, particularly through the gut-spine axis, which involves the gut-disc, gut-bone, and gut-immune interactions. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States with limited therapeutic options available. Gemcitabine, a deoxycytidine nucleoside analog is currently considered the most effective therapy for PanCa. However, it shows only a marginal survival benefit of six months. Aberrant ribosome biogenesis occurs in most tumor types. We observed that PanCa cells are addicted to ribosome biogenesis, which supports their highly aggressive metastatic phenotypes. Introduction/Background: Colorectal Adenocarcinoma (CRC) metastasis is found in approximately 1 in 5 patients diagnosed with CRC and frequently spreads to the liver, lungs, peritoneum, bone, and nervous system. There are several subtypes of adenocarcinoma but the single most associated with distant metastasis, multiple sites of metastasis, and poorer survival is the signet-ring cell carcinoma variant. Introduction: Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) is a rare genetic condition affecting the APC gene characterized by the development of hundreds to thousands of colorectal polyps increasing the risk of cancer. Diagnosis usually occurs between ages 20 and 40. We present the unfortunate case of a patient with FAP that developed colon cancer and many years of complications. Although the pathogenesis is not completely understood, pulmonary vascular dilatation occurs due to imbalance between vasodilators and vasoconstrictors. Liver injury is thought to increase endothelin production and cause bacterial translocation, causing increased nitric oxide production, causing vasodilation of pulmonary vasculature. MUC13 and MUC16 are mucosal epithelial expressed proteins associated with various carcinomas. Overexpression of these biomarkers appear to play a role in tumor growth; this discovery has paved a road for multiple studies discussing the potential of targeting mucin proteins and optimize immunotherapy approaches against carcinomas. Our study serves to investigate the level of expression of MUC13 and MUC16 in cancerous and normal tissue and to discuss the implications our findings may have for the utilization of these biomarkers for cancer therapy.

Objective: Zenker's diverticulum (ZD) is usually associated with dysphagia and other symptoms due to the interrelated functions of several systems. Surgical management of ZD is effective for all sizes of diverticula, but not all patients decide to undergo surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between clinical presentation and patients' decision to undergo surgical repair.
