BACKGROUND: Monogenic diabetes accounts for approximately 1–5% of diabetes cases and is frequently misclassified. Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) includes 14 subtypes with distinct pathophysiology and therapeutic implications. Digenic MODY, caused by pathogenic variants in more than one MODY gene, occurs in well under 1% of cases and poses unique diagnostic and management challenges. We report the first known case of concurrent HNF1A (MODY3) and PDX1 (MODY4) mutations, highlighting important clinical and therapeutic considerations.

The purpose of this review was to investigate the use of testosterone supplementation in the middle-aged male with a focus on the pathophysiology of testosterone throughout the lifespan, current supplementation options and their adverse effects, and the overall benefit of supplementing to enhance quality of life. A comprehensive search of electronic databases was conducted identifying studies that assessed clinical outcomes, pathophysiology, supplementation options, adverse effects and benefits of treatments. They are beneficial in the treatment of various conditions and offer great promise. Despite this, they are associated with several adverse effects, necessitating vigilance and further research. This case study reports a 69-year-old male with multiple comorbidities who presented with epigastric pain radiating to the back. Laboratory tests revealed elevated AST, ALT, GGT and lipase. Background: Penile Calciphylaxis occurs in about 1–4% of hemodialysis patients worldwide. Associated mortality rates are very high, and hyperparathyroidism is the second most frequently associated disorder. Addressing the resulting metabolic imbalance, and surgical intervention guided by findings of radiological studies may improve quality of life. The pathogenesis is thought to be mediated by vascular smooth muscle cells which differentiate into osteoblast-like cells. Decrease in vascular calcification inhibitory proteins fetuin-A and matrix Gla is found in patients on dialysis causing systemic medial calcification of arterioles, leading to epidermal ischemia, tissue infarction, and ulceration.

The current study determined the association between menopausal symptoms and marital quality of life, and explored the role of several demographic variables (education, occupation, and income) on these symptoms. Wives experiencing premenopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause 35 to 60 years old (M=45.21 & SD=7.47) were recruited from Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
