Organophosphate (OP) chemicals include commonly used pesticides and chemical warfare agents, and mechanistically they are potent inhibitors of the cholinesterase (ChE) enzyme. Epidemiological studies report long-term neuropsychiatric issues, including depression and cognitive impairments in OP-exposed individuals. Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is one of the most widely used pesticides worldwide. Multiple laboratory studies have reported on either the long-term behavioral effect of an acute high-dose CPF (30-250 mg/kg) or studied sub-chronic behavioral effects, particularly the motor and cognitive effects of repeated low-dose CPF. This project was executed to provide obstructive sleep apnea education to the men and women of the rural community. Many residents of rural communities remain undereducated and unaware of diseases and disorders in which they are subjected to or have increased risks for. Obstructive sleep apnea affects approximately twenty-two billion Americans. Of those affected, nearly eighty percent remain undiagnosed and untreated (Nagappa et al., 2015). Victims of the sleep disorder fail to acknowledge signs and symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea, many oblivious to the etiology, risk factors, symptoms, and pathophysiology of the disorder. Recalled memories of caregiving in childhood are especially salient during the postpartum period and inform mothers’ conceptualization of her new parenting role. Positive perceptions of care received from one’s parents are related to improved maternal-infant bonding and positive parenting behaviors, whereas negative perceptions of care convey risk for maladaptive parenting. Few studies have investigated neural and biological mechanisms contributing to observed associations between childhood care and the adaptation to motherhood. The following studies address this gap by examining how perceptions of childhood parental care and overprotection are related to maternal behavior, oxytocin levels, and neural response. The rates of TBI are significantly higher among individuals experiencing homelessness compared to the general population. Up to half of individuals experiencing homelessness may have a TBI. Accurate prevalence rates of TBI among individuals experiencing homelessness are difficult to obtain due to different methods of sampling participants and differing definitions of TBI; therefore, estimates may be underrepresented. Despite past research that has examined the relationship between TBI and homelessness, there are specific gaps in knowledge such as correlates and risk factors of TBI among individuals experiencing homelessness. Introduction: Acute subdural hemorrhage (aSDH) in association with aneurismal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a severe disease with an incidence of 0.5% to 7.9% of all SAH. Due to the rarity of aneurysmal aSDH, it remains difficult to define a comprehensive management protocol. In this case review, following the CARE guidelines, we show the hybrid management of this pathology to know the importance of using different types of neurosurgical treatments in case of two severe diseases in critical patients.

We present the case of a seventy-five years old female who came to revision because of worsening solids dysphagia, dry cough, and foreign body sensation in the past two weeks; we had practiced her an ACDF procedure four years ago. As clinicians, we rely on various imaging methods to identify abnormal brain lesions. We can distinguish this myriad of neurological disorders by using imaging alone or together with either or both electrophysiological monitoring and direct cortical stimulation. This last alternative is the most frequently used approach to diagnosing brain lesions requiring awake craniotomies for adequate management. Awake craniotomies have become the standard of care for focal lesions, including vascular malformations like cavernous angiomas, intrinsic brain tumors, gliomas, vasculitic brain lesions, postinfectious brain lesions, brain metastasis, and also for epilepsy surgery. Background: Traumatic injury is the leading cause of death for individuals under the age of 45 years old, regardless of race, origin, or sex (CDC, 2019). Among patients who sustain traumatic injury, hemorrhage remains the leading cause of death (American College of Surgeons [ACS], 2014). Hemodynamic stability may be achieved through administration of blood products such as packed red blood cells (PRBC), plasma, and platelets (PTL). Patients with severe exsanguination may require administration of blood products in large quantities, also known as a massive blood transfusion (MBT).

Background: Emergency department (ED) overcrowding leads to detrimental results including increased morbidity and mortality, delay in evaluation of treatment, increased cost of care, increased length of stay, diminished staff satisfaction, increased ambulance diversion, and reputation damage for the entire institution (American College of Emergency Physicians, 2019). The susceptibility to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in early life has been associated with a deficient T-helper cell type 1 (Th1) response. Conversely, healthy adults generally do not exhibit severe illness from RSV infection. In the current study, we investigated whether Th1 cytokine IFN-γ is essential for protection against RSV and RSV-associated comorbidities in adult mice. We found that, distinct from influenza virus, prior RSV infection does not induce significant IFN-γ production and susceptibility to secondary Streptococcus pneumoniae infection in adult wild-type (WT) mice. In ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthmatic mice, RSV super-infection increases airway neutrophil recruitment and inflammatory lung damage …
