BACKGROUND: To evaluate the overall satisfaction, device usability, and injection experience of MS patients self-administering ofatumumab using the Sensoready
METHODS: This US-based, cross-sectional survey study included patients with MS (≥ 18 years) who self-administered ofatumumab using the Sensoready device within the previous 12 months of the survey. Eligible patients were administered a 30-item de novo questionnaire that focused on overall device satisfaction, device usability, convenience/flexibility for travel with the device, user confidence, injection experience, and time to administer the injection. Ratings were measured on Likert and numeric rating scales, with higher scores indicating positive responses.

The programmed death-1 (PD-1) pathway has a significant role in the promotion of immune tolerance. The PD-1 receptor ligands are normally expressed on various inactive immune cells. When cancer cells express these ligands, they are able to interact with active T and B lymphocytes to induce this tolerance. Nivolumab and pembrolizumab are two recently approved agents that act to disrupt this binding and facilitate an immune response against cancer cells. Numerous trials, including KEYNOTE-002 and CheckMate 063, have demonstrated the superior safety and efficacy of these drugs in patients with advanced or refractory cancers. The recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of two new drugs, alirocumab (Praluent®) and evolocumab (Repatha®) is a breakthrough in the treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia. These drugs are a part of a new class called the proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors that act by increasing the number of low density lipoprotein receptors (LDL-R) recycled to hepatocyte membranes. The increased density of LDL-R facilitates greater clearance of low density lipoproteins from the blood. Parainfluenza 3 antibodies against (PI3) virus in pigs were determined from commercial (n = 192) and backyard farms (n = 192). Blood samples were collected at the slaughter house from pigs of 2 to 6 months of age of any sex for detecting antibodies against the PI3 virus by viral neutralization test. The 5.5 ± 2.3% (21/384) of the pigs had antibodies against PI3 virus, where 5.2 ± 1.1% (10/192) and 5.7 ± 1.2% (11/192) were from commercial and backyard farms respectively. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of antibodies against Leptospira spp in pigs reared in five well-managed farms (n = 163) and from 11 backyard breeding (n = 133) owners in the valley Lima, Peru. Blood samples (n=296) were collected in two slaughterhouses for antibody detection against eight serovars of Leptospira by microaglutination test. The 85.8 ± 3.9% (254/296) of samples had antibodies against one or more serovars of Leptospira. . The prevalence of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) in 406 cattle was evaluated of both sexes and older than 6 months. Animals belonged to 114 small farmers from three rural communities of the province of Espinar, Cusco, Peru. Blood samples were collected according to three age groups Ɩ-12, 13-23, >24 months old). The prevalence of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) infection in 347 evaluated was criollo cattle of both sexes and older than 6 months of age in small herds of the province of Melgar, Puno. Serum samples were tested for antibodies against BVDV using the viral neutralization test. The 48.7 ± 0.1% (166/347) of the samples had antibodies against BVDV. Animals carrying on the virus, virus were not detected. Antibodies were detected in all sampled herds and the prevalence varied from 15.7 to 94.1%. The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) and persistently infected (PI) animals in dairy herds located in Majes, Arequipa, Peru. In the first phase, 204 bulk tank milk samples from herds were collected and sent to the local commercial processing plant in Majes for detection of antibodies against BVDV by indirect ELISA test. The objetive of this study was to detect antibodies against vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) collared peccaries in (Tayassu tajacu) from farms of Iquitos and Pucallpa, Peru. Blood samples were collected in animals olders than 6 months of age (pregnant females were not included) from a farm in Iquitos (n = 21) and from four farms in Pucallpa (n = 47), for detection of antibodies against Indiana 1 and New Jersey serotype of VSV by viral neutralization test. The isolation and characterization of cDNAs encoding poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) enzymes and the amino acid sequences of PARGs from several species are described. PARG is involved in the cellular response to DNA damage and its proper function is associated with the body's response to neoplastic disorder inducing agents and oxidative stress. Expression vectors containing the cDNAs and cells transformed with the vectors are described. Probes and primers that hybridize with the cDNAs are described. Actin participates in several intracellular trafficking pathways. We now find that actin, bound to the surface of purified yeast vacuoles in the absence of cytosol or cytoskeleton, regulates the last compartment mixing stage of homotypic vacuole fusion. The Cdc42p GTPase is known to be required for vacuole fusion. We now show that proteins of the Cdc42p-regulated actin remodeling cascade (Cdc42p --> Cla4p --> Las17p/Vrp1p --> Arp2/3 complex --> actin) are enriched on isolated vacuoles. Vacuole fusion is dramatically altered by perturbation of the vacuole-bound actin, either by mutation of the ACT1 gene, addition of specific actin ligands such as latrunculin …

The transporter associated with antigen presentation (TAP) complex shuttles cytosolic peptides into the exocytic compartment for association with nascent major histocompatibility complex class I molecules. Biochemical studies of murine and human TAP have established that substrate length and COOH-terminal residue identity are strong determinants of transport efficiency. However, the existence of these specificities in the intact cell and their influences on T cell responses have not been demonstrated. We have devised a method for studying TAP- mediated transport in intact cells, using T cell activation as a readout. The approach makes use of a panel of recombinant vaccinia viruses expressing …
