patients with greater opportunity to take control over their health. HITs utilization has

been proven to be a critical component of disease self-management and can result in

positive outcomes. Its widespread adoption and utilization is still relatively low among

patients with chronic disease. It is important to understand the factors that may impact

HITs utilization, such as the perceived Task-Technology Fit (TTF). A very limited

Background: Two-way interactive text messaging between patient and community health workers (CHWs) through mobile phone SMS (short message service) text messaging is a form of digital health that can potentially enhance patient engagement in young adults and families that have a child with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes mellitus, sickle cell disease, and asthma. These patients have complex needs, and a user-centered way can be useful for designing a tool to address their needs.

This paper focuses on the barriers that patients have as to why they do not use their electronic patient portal. The literature suggests that the age and socioeconomic status of the individual has a big impact on the use of the electronic portals. A review of the literature showed that all populations have not been represented. This study surveys a broader range of patients including all ages, genders, education and socioeconomic statuses to see what barriers that this broader range of patients has to using their electronic portals.

Indirect calorimetry provides the average cost of a stride cycle and prevents from identifying which part of the gait cycle causes increased metabolic cost in patients, however, recent simulation methods allow estimating the time profile of metabolic cost within the stride cycle. In this study, we compare the estimations of the time profile of the metabolic cost of two simulation methods for level and uphill walking. A methodology of evaluation research with a focus on summative evaluations was conducted.
