For me personally, I did not enjoy quarantining at all. I did enjoy seeing my family every day, however, I was very lonely. I couldn’t see any of my friends, which was very disappointing. Thankfully with social media I could facetime them and text them, but face-to-face contact with other people is very necessary; it is something you wouldn’t normally think is important, but when you are unable to physically be with other people, you realize how lonely you feel.

The CDC recently updated its guidelines for quarantining and isolating. We delayed implementing the new guidelines, because we expected the CDC to release more specific guidance for institutions of higher education. After consulting with state and local health officials, we have decided to move forward with the new guidelines. When the CDC does release guidelines for higher education, we will review them and may update our protocols accordingly. Educators in North Carolina have been burdened with many different negative stressors, such as low pay, increasing class sizes, and violence in the classroom, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only added to the role of the educator. Current research suggests an inevitable exodus of teachers due to the increased stress brought by the pandemic. Through this mixed methods study, I sought to examine relationships between COVID-19 stress, physical and mental health symptoms, and occupational burnout. Over 38.0 million people live with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as of 462019. HIV hijacks the host's cellular machinery to replicate its viral DNA and transcribe the corresponding RNA. HIV-1 transcription relies on both cellular and viral transcription factors for proper regulation. The viral transcriptional activator Tat is a primary regulator. Transcription activation and elongation is controlled through the interaction of Tat with Positive Transcription Elongation Factor b (P-TEFb), a cellular transcriptional activator. Family members and close friends that were dear to us became sick, and some even passed. My mother's occupation was stolen from her, too, due to the circumstances. During the time of the pandemic it was a hard time for me because of the new challenges we would have to go through as a country together. the new way of life by having to wear masks, being socially distant from others, and having online learning were just the tip of the iceberg of the pandemic. March 13th 2020 was the last day of in person learning for my junior year and high school and ever since then life took a complete different turn with dealing with the pandemic.
