Background: Penile Calciphylaxis occurs in about 1–4% of hemodialysis patients worldwide. Associated mortality rates are very high, and hyperparathyroidism is the second most frequently associated disorder. Addressing the resulting metabolic imbalance, and surgical intervention guided by findings of radiological studies may improve quality of life. The pathogenesis is thought to be mediated by vascular smooth muscle cells which differentiate into osteoblast-like cells. Decrease in vascular calcification inhibitory proteins fetuin-A and matrix Gla is found in patients on dialysis causing systemic medial calcification of arterioles, leading to epidermal ischemia, tissue infarction, and ulceration.

Lymphvascular invasion (LVI) is recognized as an adverse prognostic factor in many cancers. Our aim is to assess the prognostic ability of LVI in UTUC urothelial carcinoma (UC) and micropapillary urothelial carcinoma (MPUC) subtypes as a predictor of overall survival (OS) using a large North American cohort.

Our cohort included 9750 cM0 UTUC patients who underwent a radical nephroureterectomy (RNU), between 2004 and 2015, within the National Cancer Database (NCDB). Prostate cancer is the leading malignancy and third most common cause of cancer death among men. In the United States, racial disparities exist in prostate cancer incidence and mortality rates. According to the National Cancer Institute, African American (AA) men have a significantly increased incidence of prostate cancer compared to Caucasians or Asians. Background: Abdominal cocoon syndrome is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction in which loops of small bowel get entrapped inside a fibro-collagenous membrane. Condition is also known in the literature as sclerosing peritonitis and in the majority of cases, it has no known cause. Although the majority of patients exhibit long-standing signs and symptoms of partial bowel obstruction in an out-patient clinic, its acute presentation in the emergency room with features of sepsis is extremely rare. Objectives: To identify non-invasive predictors of response to tamsulosin 0.4 mg in patients with benign prostatic obstruction (BPO).
Methods: Males ≥ 50 years of age with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) suggestive of BPO for over three months were included in the study. We assessed change in the mean International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and maximum flow rate (Qmax) after six weeks of medical therapy. Clinical and uroflowmetry parameters were compared between two groups of patients with >25% vs. <25% change in the IPSS after treatment. Pre- and post-treatment post-void residue (PVR), Qmax, and IPSS were compared by independent t-test, univariate/multivariate regression analysis.

Objectives: To determine the impact of Kisspeptin on male reproductive axis in a selected urban population.
Methods: The cross-sectional study was conducted at the Sindh Institute of Reproductive Medicine in collaboration with Aga Khan University, Karachi, from July, 2017, to February, 2018, and comprised infertile males with abnormal sperm parameters who were placed in Group A and fertile males with normal sperm parameters placed in Group B. Serum samples were estimated for Kisspeptin, follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, testosterone and sex hormone-binding globulin using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Pelvic fractures represents high energy trauma with associated other organ injuries including intra-abdominal injuries, haemorrhage and extremity injuries. Anatomical location of genitourinary structures makes them vulnerable to injury with pelvic fracture. Incidence of sexual dysfunction varies in literature with 5% incidence of dysfunction in patients without urethral injury and 42% with urethral injuries. Disorders of sexual development (DSD) encompass a broad spectrum of urogenital malformations and are amongst the most common congenital birth defects. Although key genetic factors such as the hedgehog (Hh) family have been identified, a unifying postnatally viable model displaying the spectrum of male and female urogenital malformations has not yet been reported. Since human cases are diagnosed and treated at various stages postnatally, equivalent mouse models enabling analysis at similar stages are of significant interest.
