Odontomas are asymptomatic benign odontogenic tumors, generally discovered fortuitously, or when a tooth failed to erupt. They are mainly composed of enamel and dentin, cement and pulp tissue can also be present in variable amounts. In 2005, the World Health Organization classified two main types of odontoma, an amorphous and irregular mass of calcified dental tissues as complex odontoma and multiple miniature tooth-like structures as compound odontoma. Leukemia is the most prevalent malignancy of leukocytes and can occur in children and adults. Oral manifestations are part of the complexity of signs and symptoms in patients with leukemia and, in some patients, oral manifestations precede systemic manifestations. Oral signs of leukemia include spontaneous bleeding, gingival enlargement, and whiteness of the oral mucosa. Head and neck lymphadenopathy is common in patients with leukemia. Oral manifestations are the result of the direct invasion of immature cells in the oral cavity tissues or indirectly caused by the replacement of the normal blood cells for immature cells causing anemia, leucopenia, and thrombocytopenia. …

Methods: A total of 70 CBCT scans were analyzed. Three groups were evaluated; control (absence of CB), unilateral CB, and bilateral CB. A hemangioma is a benign vascular neoplasm, relatively common in the head and neck. In the oral region, it affects the tongue, gums, mucosa, palate, and lip. Its size can vary from millimeters to centimeters, characterized as a purplish or reddish lesion. The present study aims to present two clinical cases of hemangiomas, the first of a male patient treated by sclerotherapy and the second of a female patient in which she was treated with ethamolin and later surgical treatment. Methods: A total of 1013 CBCT images were reviewed in detail from the electronic patient database. The patient’s age, gender, CBCT indications and acquisition sites, referral departments, reason for referral, incidental findings in the imaging field and the presence of artifacts in the CBCT images were all recorded. Cancer chemotherapy compromises the patient’s oral health through dysbiosis of oral microbiota and increases the prevalence of dental cavities, gingivitis, oral mucositis, and xerostomia. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of a common chemotherapeutic agent, Fluorouracil (5-FU), on certain microorganisms that are common within the oral cavity. Varying concentrations (50 μM, 75 μM and 100μM) of 5-FU were used to simulate the dosage that reaches the oral cavity after intravenous delivery. The microorganisms tested were Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Streptococcus salivarius. Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a cytoplasmic molecule associated with cellular signaling, growth, and invasion. Osteomas are frequently reported in the maxillofacial region with much lower incidences in the maxillary and sphenoid sinuses. An unerupted third molar within the maxillary sinus coexisting with a maxillary sinus osteoma is an extremely rare pathologic finding. Such cases can be managed endoscopically or intraorally through a Caldwell-Luc approach. The following case report deals with a patient who presents with an uncommon pathological finding: an osteoma embedding an ectopic tooth within the maxillary sinus.

Evidence-based recommendations by the American Dental Association and umbrella reviews of systematic reviews are summarized to provide indications for SDF use in primary and permanent teeth, including sound surfaces and those with non-cavitated and cavitated caries lesions. High-quality evidence supports that SDF is an effective treatment alternative for managing active cavitated coronal and root caries lesions and preventing root caries lesions. Objective : to evaluate the anticancer effect of nano sized betanine particles (betanine NP) on squamous cell carcinoma cell line compared to doxorubicin (DOX) by measuring apoptosis through caspase 3. Methods: Three groups of the human tongue squamous cell carcinoma cell line (SCC 25) were created, and two of them were treated with DOX and betanine NP. The third group served as a negative control and was not given any treatment. Oral ulcerations caused by aphtous lesions, leukoplakia, scarlet fever, syphilis, NOMA, mucormycosis herpetic lesions, candidiasis, discoid lupus erythematous, ulcerative lichen planus, mucous membrane pemphigoid, spongy nevus, oral submoucs fibrosis and pemphigus vulgaris are treated in a step-up fashion that may include topical, intralesional, and systemic pharmaceutical treatment. This page discusses the most often used therapy agents, methods, and dosages. Although the emphasis is on local pharmacologic therapy, systemic illnesses that frequently occur with such oral lesions are briefly discussed, as is the appropriate care.

Objectives: To investigate the response of primary human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) to self-adhesive resin cement (SARC) extracts. Methods: Two types of SARCs, RelyXTM U200 (RX) and Maxcem EliteTM Chroma (MC), were polymerized using various curing methods (light-cured, light-cured through 1- or 2-mm zirconia, and self-cured) (n=9/group). HGFs were exposed to cement extracts at different concentrations. Treated HGFs were assessed for cell viability, vitality, wound healing, and gene expression at different time points. Extracellular matrix (ECM) is a cellular microenvironment that aids in cell migration, cell growth, and differentiation and serves as a physical barrier against microorganisms.
