Background and Objectives: Anecdotal data on the usefulness of homoeopathic medicines in acute haemorrhoids shows grade V evidence. So, the efficacy of individualized homoeopathic medicines in LM potencies, in Acute Haemorrhoidal Attacks (AHAs), was investigated in this study against placebo. Material and Methods: In a multicenter randomized controlled single-blind parallel group trial conducted at six centers under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, patients who presented with any symptom such as bleeding, pain, discharge, heaviness, and itching were included. Hypertrophic scar (HSc) is a dermal fibro proliferative disorder that occurs following trauma, inflammation, surgery, burns, and sometimes spontaneously. This is a case report of a 23 year old male with post-burn HSc after acid burn injury on his left jaw. The homoeopathic medicine Silicea was prescribed in 30 th potency on the basis of the totality of symptoms followed by repertorization; though only three doses of Silicea were prescribed at baseline during the course of treatment followed by placebo, there was a marked improvement in HSc as well as in associated complaints.

Background: Hypertension is the most common cardiovascular disorder posing a major public health challenge to the population. Homoeopathy, although widely used in hypertension, is assumed to have nothing but placebo effects and its specific clinical effects are frequently ascribed as implausible. Objective: To elicit the pathogenetic response of Gymnema sylvestre in homoeopathic potencies on apparently healthy human volunteers. Methodology: Gymnema sylvestre was proved by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy through double-blind placebo-controlled method. The study was carried out at four centers. The drug was proved in two potencies (6C and 30C) on 63 apparently healthy volunteers who were selected after conducting pre-trial medical examination by the medical specialists and routine laboratory investigations. Pimenta officinalis Lindl., a bushy tree commonly known as ′all spice′ belongs to the family Myrtaceae. It is a potential drug in homoeopathy used in neuralgias and disturbed sensations of heat and cold. The dried unripe fruits are used as medicine. The fruit is a small pea-sized berry, blackish to reddish brown. The epicarp is conspicuous with numerous large glandular secretory cavities. The pericarp is about 2 mm thick. The mesocarpic cells contain resin, tannins and sphaerocrystals. Stone cells are also present in mesocarp. The outermost layer of seed consists of closely packed testa with attached stone cells. Among the plants used in the homoeopathic system of medicine,by far a large number are derived from the flowering plants. Of the lower groups,those having chlorophyll but lacking a proper organized higher plant structure belong to Algae and Lichens which have been dealt with separately, along with the non- chlorophyllous Fungi. The Bryophytes constitute a separate group of which only one representative is used in Homoeopathy. These plants too lack an organized plant body though analogous structures begin to evolve. The study was undertaken to examine whether Carcinosin-200 (Car-200) could provide additional ameliorative effect, if used intermittently with Natrum sulphuricum-30 (Nat sulph-30) against hepatocarcinogenesis induced by chronic feeding of p-dimethylaminoazobenzene (p-DAB) and phenobarbital (PB) in mice (Mus musculus). Mice were randomly divided into seven sub-groups: (i) normal untreated; (ii) normal+succussed alcohol; (iii) p-DAB (0.06%) + PB (0.05%); (iv) p-DAB + PB +succussed alcohol (v) p-DAB+PB+Nat sulph-30, (vi) p-DAB+PB+Car-200, and (vii) p-DAB+PB+ Nat sulph-30+Car-200. Depression is a common as well as serious illness. Many people with a depressive illness never seek treatment. But the vast majority, even those with the most severe depression, can get better with treatment. Tension headache is the most common type of headache and is experienced at some time by the majority of the population in some form. Emotional strain or anxiety is a common precipitant to tension type headache and there is sometimes an underlying depressive illness. A case of tension headache with depressive disorder treated with Gelsemium is reported here.
