Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy
Introduction: Schizophrenia is a complex, progressive and severe mental disorder characterised by distortions in thinking, perception, emotions, language, sense of self and behaviour. Conventional medication and cognitive behaviour therapy are used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Homoeopathy can also offer promising results in schizophrenia as evident from the previous studies. Case Summary: Five patients reported at the outpatient department of National Homoeopathy Research Institute in Mental Health, Kerala, India, with symptoms of schizophrenia were treated with individualised homoeopathic medicine as an add-on therapy to conventional medicines. Assessment of the patients was done using three scales: Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale, …

Introduction: Gallbladder polyps are usually asymptomatic and detected incidentally during abdominal ultrasonography (USG). Their presence, irrespective of size, is considered an indication of surgical removal. Case Summary: A 44-year-old hypertensive and diabetic male presented with severe pain in the left lower back for 1 month. Abdominal USG revealed the presence of a 4-mm size gallbladder polyp, mild hydronephrosis of the left kidney, two left renal microliths, 5.2-mm calculus in the left vesicoureteric junction, Grade-I fatty liver and Grade-I prostatomegaly. The paper presents a case series of 11 patients of IGM treated with classical homoeopathy in place of conventional methods.
Case Summary: After exclusion of differential diagnosis of inflammatory breast lesions by radiology, and biopsy, the patients were given individualised homoeopathic treatment. Common symptoms were pain, single or multiple lumps, …

Individualized Homoeopathic Treatment Of Phobic Anxiety Disorders – A Case Series, Deepthi Gilla, Akhila A. L., Sreelakshmy S. R, N D. Mohan
Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy
Introduction: Phobic anxiety disorders (PAD) are common distressing and disabling disorders that reduce the quality of life of an individual. Clinical trials of phobic disorders in conventional treatment are not yet substantiated with too many positive results. Homoeopathy is a well established therapeutic system with potential relevance to psychiatry but has a limited database and its effectiveness in certain disorders such as Phobic disorders is yet to be explored. Cases of phobias, which have been cured in routine homoeopathic practice remain anecdotal. This case series generates preliminary evidence for the usefulness of homoeopathy in phobic disorders. Well planned research studies …

Venous Ulcer And Stasis Dermatitis Treated With Classical Homoeopathy: A Case Series, Seema Mahesh, Mahesh Mallappa, Viraj Shah, George Vithoulkas
Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy
Introduction: Chronic venous disease is responsible for a great deal of the global disease burden due to its prevalence and socio-economic impact. Non-invasive methods of dealing with the resulting ulcers, that negatively impact mobility, are desirable. Cases Summary: We present five cases of stasis dermatitis and venous ulcers of varying severity, treated with individualised classical homoeopathy showing progress as recorded with the comprehensive classification system for chronic venous disorders (clinical aetiology anatomical pathophysiology) score and venous clinical severity score. There is a need to further investigate scientifically, the role of classical homoeopathy in peripheral vascular diseases.

Elderly Patient With Post-Herpetic Neuralgia Treated With Homoeopathic Medicine: A Case Report, Suraia Parveen, Subhrasankha Das
Indian Journal of Research in Homoeopathy
Introduction: Post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) is the most troublesome complication of herpes zoster (HZ). It often occurs in elderly and immunocompromised persons. PHN is a chronic neuropathic pain that can persist months to years after HZ rashes have healed. The persisting pain causes physical and psychological distress and negatively impacts the quality of life. The conventional method of treatment (CMT) is often only partially effective. In patients with inadequate response, or intolerance to current conventional treatments for pain relief, homoeopathy may be considered. Case Summary: A 64-year-old woman presented with severe neuralgic pain on the right upper chest wall and upper …
