Background: Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous follicle with polymorphic clinical manifestation typically found on facial, neck and/or back area. The pathogenesis is complex and multifactorial. Management of acne vulgaris is determined based on its severity. Adjuvant therapies, such as intense pulsed light (IPL), have been described in accelerating the healing process during treatment.

Background: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common malignant skin tumor and is derived from pluripotent cells in the basal layer of the epidermis. One of the BCC management options is surgery followed by a skin flap to close the wound defect.
Case Illustration: We present a 43-year-old woman with a major complaint of non-healing sores on the left zygomatic region, close to the medial canthus, with frequent episodes of bleeding and itching since one year before admission. Background: The association between psoriasis and metabolic syndrome is appealing as the two may share a similar cross-linking systemic inflammation process. The inflammation processes occurring in obesity and psoriasis may aggravate one another. This raised the question of whether a low-calorie diet would possibly reverse the aforementioned process. With the availability of antiretroviral therapy, more children living with HIV live longer than before and grow into young adulthood. This study examined the concerns of youth about disclosure of an HIV diagnosis to their sexual partners and attempted to gain an understanding of their HIV status disclosure experiences, views, and plans. A focused ethnography was undertaken. Using semi-structured interviews, data were collected from 20 youth between the ages of 15 and 24 years who were attending an HIV clinic. Mental health disparities for Black people of diverse ethnicities compared to people of other racial identities has been well-documented (Alegría et al., 2008; Maura & Weisman de Mamani, 2017). Research addressing this pervasive systemic and interpersonal problem often focuses on client-related factors that create or intensify barriers to care. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to review and explore the effect of using heparinoids as a systemic anticoagulant at prophylactic doses on mortality in COVID-19 patients. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has caused series of lockdown in Malaysia which led to the significant financial impact to dental practitioner in Malaysia. Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate factors affecting dental practice and its implication to financial situation during the pandemic in Malaysia. Methods: Registered Malaysian dental practitioners were invited to participate in online questionnaire via google form. Descriptive and Pearson’s chi-square test analysis were conducted (p<0.05). We describe a 74-year-old woman with right knee osteoarthritis experiencing right tibial neuropathy because of complications of total knee arthroplasty revision. Weakness in the right toe flexors and paresthesia over the sole of the right foot were observed after operation. A nerve conduction study and electromyographic examination indicated right tibial neuropathy. Radiography indicated a prosthesis fragment in the right popliteal fossa, and its location was different before and after surgery. Prosthesis fragment dislodgement was also confirmed through ultrasonography, and the nearby tibial nerve may have been entrapped because of the dislocation process and surrounding tissue fibrosis. Background: There are no studies done to evaluate the distribution of mammographic breast density and factors associated with it among Pakistani women.
Methods: Participants included 477 women, who had received either diagnostic or screening mammography at two hospitals in Karachi Pakistan. Mammographic breast density was assessed using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System. In person interviews were conducted using a detailed questionnaire, to assess risk factors of interest, and venous blood was collected to measure serum vitamin D level at the end of the interview. This review article has attempted to analyze the folk utility of important medicinal plants having valuable secondary metabolites used for the treatment of a variety of diseases. It is estimated that two-thirds of the total medicinal plants are used for the treatment of various diseases. Some medicinal plants are known for great antioxidant properties. Antioxidants reduce oxidative stress in cells. Antioxidants are useful for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, inflammatory diseases, and cancers. Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr. (Phyllanthaceae) is a green vegetable. It is rich in natural antioxidant compounds such as phenolics and flavonoids. The pre-extraction preparation can affect the results of extracting compounds from natural materials. This study aims to determine the effect of pre-extraction procedures, including sample form (fresh/dried), drying process (oven-drying/indirect sunlight-drying/air-drying), and particle size (ground/powdered) on total phenolic and flavonoid levels of ethanolic extracts of S. androgynus leaves and their antioxidant activity against DPPH radicals. The germline BRCA1 c.68_69delAG (185delAG) and c.5266dupC (5382insC) mutations are associated with hormone receptor-negative breast cancer (BC).  Limited studies have examined their contribution to alarming BC incidence in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA). Our study aimed to examine the contribution of  germline BRCA1 c.68_69delAG and c.5266dupC mutations to BC incidence among hormone receptor-negative BC patients admitted to Ocean Road Cancer Institute in Tanzania.
