Penyandang Disabilitas Di Indonesia:Perkembangan Istilah Dan Definisi, Dini Widinarsih
Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial

Chulalongkorn Medical Journal
Background: Difference in the staging of head and neck cancer leads to different treatments and managementsof the patients to minimize mortality and improve long-term health and social consequences. Objective: This study aimed to utilize the T2 signal value on T2WI for early detection of metastatic lymph nodes. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 18-fluoro-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computedtomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results of patients with head and necksquamous cell carcinomas, from January 2012 to February 2018. The ratio between the T2 signal values of thelymph nodes and sternocleidomastoid muscles were calculated for each lymph node. Analytical comparisonsbetween T2 signal value ratios …

Background: Shift work is common among nurses because health care is the industry that covers 24 hoursa day, 7 days a week. How a healthcare organization alters staffing patterns to reduce fatigue among nursing staffis challenging. This study aimed to understand whether poor sleep quality persisted in nursing staff who didshift work and whether there were any specific risk factors for poor sleep quality among nursing staff. The studyused a validated tool called the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) in Thai version for sleep quality assessment. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study. Semi-structured questionnaires were used to interviewnursing staff who …

Exercise Training Improves Age-Related Changes In Cerebral Capillary Vascularity Through The Upregulation Of Pi3k / Akt Signaling, Channipa Chanpakdee, Sheepsumon Viboolvorakul, Suthiluk Patumraj
Chulalongkorn Medical Journal
Background: Currently, the number of the elderly has been rising sharply worldwide. Seemingly, age-inducedcerebral endothelial dysfunction may lead to vascular abnormality that can later progress to cerebrovascularand neurodegenerative diseases. Moreover, several evidences have shown that age-related oxidative stress anddecline in cellular function appeared in the vascular system both in humans and laboratory animals. The role ofexercise training in the regulation of age-related oxidative stress and endothelial functions have been reported. Objectives: To investigate whether exercise training can prevent age-induced cerebral endothelial dysfunctionassociated to PI3K/Akt signaling. Methods: Male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: sedentary-young group (SE-Young, 4 months),sedentary-aged group (SE-Aged, …

The Role Of Spirituality And 12 Step Groups In Addressing Treatment Fear And Worry Among Head And Neck Cancer Patients, Heather M. Wallace
Open Access Publishing Support Funded Articles
Diagnosis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) presents a multifarious problem. Because of uncertainty regarding appropriate clinical treatment, as well as the high potential for disfigurement and functional loss resulting in diminished quality of life (QOL), satisfactory patient participation in quality decision-making is critical. Previous research has consistently revealed that older adults frequently defer decisionmaking to their physician and make decisions more quickly than younger adults. Research also suggests that lay health beliefs, past experiences and various strategies of emotional regulation, based on perceptions of the quantity and quality of remaining time till death, may influence the decisionmaking …

Employer Perceptions Of Addiction Recovery And Hiring Decisions, Haley Henderson, Valerie Hoots, Joseph Barnet, Andrea D. Clements
ETSU Faculty Works
Abstract Addiction to drugs and alcohol is a widespread, and ever-growing problem in American society today. Individuals who undergo treatment for their addiction often find it difficult to gain employment due to employers' negative perceptions of addiction. Previous research has found that many employers have a stigma of those in addiction recovery. However, little research has been done to determine if these stigmas affect hiring decisions. Drug and alcohol misuse are prominent in the Appalachian area, which presents an issue for employers in the area who maintain a drug-free work place or who have a stigma of those in addiction …
