Relying on a simple random sample of cellphone public opinion survey data of 1571 respondents collected in Albania in winter 2018-2019, we test a set of hypothesis arguing that, in cellphone public opinion surveys, female interviewers would yield better results both in terms of advancing the interview toward the last question (interview retention), and having it conducted in shorter time (interview length). Additionally, ionic liquid (IL, 1-Butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium tetra fluoroborate), iron(II) phthalocyanine (FePc) and Nafion were added into the modifier suspensions and further tested for their electro-catalytic effect. NIR spectroscopy provides the spectral signatures (i.e. “fingerprints”) of living human muscles, which represent specific, accurate, and reproducible measures of their overall biological status. We showed that chemometric analysis applied to NIR spectra acquired from the upper limb distinguishes the biceps from the triceps. We acquired muscles reflectance spectra in the Vis-SWIR regions (350-2500 nm), utilizing an ASD FieldSpec 4™ Standard-Res Spectroradiometer with a spectral sampling capability of 1.4 nm at 350-1000 nm and 1.1 nm at 1001-2500 nm. Optical spectroscopy proves effective for studying human muscles in vivo and contribute to non-invasive more thorough evaluation of the muscular system.

The study involved 30 patients injured in Dubrava Prison from 19-22 May 1999. Their hospitalization was performed at the Pristina Hospital at the Vascular Surgery Clinic from 26.05.1999-08.06.1999. Joint mobility is necessary for adequate function of musculature. Internal rotation of the cuboid functions to allow midtarsal and hindfoot pronation in weight bearing. Inability of the cuboid to internally rotate limits mid tarsal pronation, which limits contraction of the gastroc soleus on weight bearing, ultimately contributing to muscle/tendon stress. The continued stress on the contractile structure leads to a tendinopathy which results in limited functional use with pain of the gastroc/soleus. The purpose of this case report is to outline the successful treatment of a patient with this clinical presentation.

While malignancy associated hypercalcemia is a common finding among 20% to 30% of adult patients with breast cancer, lung cancer and multiple myeloma, it happens in less than 5% of female genital tract malignancies. [1] The three most common mechanisms associated with hypercalcemia are: local osteolytic hypercalcemia, humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy (HHM) caused by the parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP), and other humoral factors including prostaglandin, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), osteoclast activating factor and transforming growth factor (TGF). Carcinoid syndrome is associated with a reduced quality of life that can be attributed to symptoms such as diarrhea and fatigue as well as social and financial issues. This study was conducted to psychometrically assess meaningful change in bowel movement frequency among carcinoid syndrome patients using data from the TELESTAR clinical study.

An anchor-based approach for deriving meaningful change thresholds consisted of mapping change from baseline bowel movement frequency to other patient-reported assessments of change. Inguinal hernias account for 75% of abdominal wall hernias, with a lifetime risk of 27% in men and 3% in women. Indirect inguinal hernia account for 80% of total inguinal hernias. A wide variety of pathological processes can present as inguinal hernias however, large reducible inguinal hernias are quite rare. Introduction: Recognition of Drug-induced Liver Injury (DILI) may be challenging as it is often diagnosis of exclusion, unavailability of diagnostic test and variability in presentation. Many antibiotics can cause DILI but Amoxicillin-Clavulanate has rare adverse reaction causing mixed cholestatic-hepatocellular injury. Since amoxicillin alone does not induce liver injury, combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid could be responsible for this adverse reaction. Purpose: The storage-only deficit and joint mechanism deficit hypotheses are two possible explanations of the verbal working memory (vWM) storage capacity limitation of school-age children with developmental language disorder (DLD). We assessed the merits of each hypothesis in a large group of children with DLD and a group of same-age typically developing (TD) children.

Method: Participants were 117 children with DLD and 117 propensity-matched TD children 7-11 years of age. Children completed tasks indexing vWM capacity, verbal short-term storage, sustained attention, attention switching, and lexical long-term memory (LTM).

This paper examines network prominence in a co-prescription network as an indicator of opioid doctor shopping (i.e., fraudulent solicitation of opioids from multiple prescribers). Using longitudinal data from a large commercially insured population, we construct a network where a tie between patients is weighted by the number of shared opioid prescribers. Given prior research suggesting that doctor shopping may be a social process, we hypothesize that active doctor shoppers will occupy central structural positions in this network.
