Sepsis is a severe response to systemic infection and one of the leading causes of death in patients world-wide. Bacterial endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide; LPS), is a potent inducer of inflammation that has been associated with the pathophysiology of sepsis. The repeated LPS exposure can induce a suppressive effect as refer to endotoxin tolerance. Fc gamma receptor IIb (CD32b), the only inhibitory receptor among FcGR family, associates with systemic lupus erythematosus (FcGRIIb defunctioning polymorphisms) which are commonly found in Asian populations. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection represents a major risk factor of developing chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The clinical outcome of HBV infection depends on complex of host and virus interactions. In this study, we found that serum HBV RNA levels has emerged as a potential viral marker for active HBV infection and may be used to evaluate response to antiviral therapy and disease progression. Serum HBV RNA levels varied among different phases of chronic HBV infection (CHB). Migraine headache generates in trigeminal nociceptive system which is activated by cortical spreading depression (CSD) phenomenon. There are also some neurotransmitter changes relating to pathogenesis of migraine, one of representative examples is serotonin (5-HT) depletion that may predispose to migraine development. Plumbagin (PLB), a naphthoquinone compound and vitamin K3 derivative, was shown its potent cytotoxicity and anti-invasion in anti-hormonal resistant cells through the inhibition of Snail-induced epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT). Overexpression of Snail leads to decrease E-cadherin and increase of beta-catenin, resulting in the activation of Wnt pathway that increases cancer stem-like characteristics in these resistant cells. Background: The timing of initiation of renal replacement therapy (RRT) in severe acute kidney injury (AKI) remains controversial, with early initiation resulting in unnecessary therapy for some patients while expectant therapy may delay RRT for other patients. The furosemide stress test (FST) has been shown to predict the need for RRT and therefore could be used to exclude low-risk patients from enrollment in trials of RRT timing. This descriptive correlational study aimed to identify the predicting factors and to examine direct and indirect relationships of preschoolers' parental feeding behaviors (PFB), urban Thailand. The conceptual framework was developed guided by Orem's self-care theory. A Multi-stage sampling was used to recruit 443 parents of preschoolers from 11 schools in Bangkok and city municipalities in all regions of Thailand. Six questionnaires demonstrated acceptable content and construct validity, and reliability were used to ask all participants to complete all questionnaires. However, there is no suitable theory or knowledge to guide nursing practice to these women. This study aimed to survey the attitudes and knowledge of Thai general dental practitioners (GDPs) in proving dental implant maintenance care. The online questionnaire was sent to Thai GDPs who graduated between 2000 and 2016. Of the returned 435 questionnaires, 429 completely filled were included for analysis. 76% of the participants were female and 24% were male. Half of the participants were aged 28-33 years old and 78% of the participants have been working as a GDP 10 years or below. A total of 50 endophytic actinomycetes isolated from fourteen plant species collected from six provinces of Thailand including Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Pathom, Prachinburi and Suphan Buri were taxonomically studied relied on their phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, and the 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The isolates were identified as members of the family Streptomycetaceae involving Streptomyces (22 isolates), and the family Micromonosporaceae including Micromonospora (25 isolates), Plantactinospora (1 isolate) and Polymorphospora (1 isolate). The objective of this research was to study the phytochemical composition of the Okra seed extract and its in vitro anticancer activity for future pharmaceutical use. We detected active flavonoids compounds such as isoquercitrin, at an amount of 2.89 ± 1.64 % w/w. Furthermore, antioxidation testing by DPPH assay and ABTS assay, showed values of IC50 = 55.80 ug/ml and 49.04 ug/ml, respectively. Phytochemical study of the methanol extract of the whole plant of Dendrobium scabrilingue Lindl. (Orchidaceae) resulted in the isolation of a new phenanthrene and a new bisbibenzyl namely dendroscabrols A and B, respectively, along with eight known compounds, identified as (Z)-ferulic acid tetracosyl ester, (E)-ferulic acid tetracosyl ester, gigantol, batatasin III, coelonin, aloifol I, lusianthridin and RF-3192C. The structures of these isolated compounds were determined mainly by spectroscopic data. All isolates were examined for alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity. The standardized extract of Centella asiatica ECa233 consists of asiaticoside and madecassoside. Previous studies reported various pharmacological effects of, ECa233, especially in the central nervous system disorders. The present study aimed to investigate the neuroprotective effects and protective mechanisms of ECa233 against rotenone-induced neurotoxicity in rats and in neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. In animal study, male Wistar rats were divided into five experimental groups (n=10); control, PD, PD-ECa10, PD-ECa30, and PD-EC100. Oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction are the major causes of neuronal death in neurodegenerative disorders. Eriodictyol is a flavonoid extracted from the whole plant of Dendrobium ellipsophyllum (thai name: Ueang Thong). The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of eriodictyol have been widely reported. The present study aimed to investigate the protective effect and mechanisms of eriodictyol on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced cell death in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. Donepezil and galantamine are commonly prescribed for the treatment of dementia. However, the response rate of acetylcholinesterase inhibitors is only 15-35 %. Inter-individual variability in donepezil and galantamine response has been associated with genetic factor in some population. Abstract Purpose To culturally adapt the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System-29 into Thai (T-PROMIS-29) and evaluate the reliability and validity of the culturally adapted questionnaire. Methods The translation was performed using the Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FACIT) translation guidelines. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability at a 1-week interval for the translated measure were computed. Construct validity was evaluated by computing correlations between the T-PROMIS-29 scores and selected SF-36 and Fear Avoidance Belief Questionnaire (FABQ) scale scores for both convergent and discriminant validity.
