In this retrospective cohort study a screening tool aimed at identification of pediatric asthma based on patients’ symptoms and directions for referral for PFT testing was placed in a Pediatric Practice site EMR in template form as a movement towards Accountable Patient Care. Twenty-eight pre-intervention patients and 5 post-intervention patients met criteria based on symptoms for referral to perform PFT testing to evaluate asthma as a diagnosis. Data collected during interviews included community level support based on the framework of the Ten Step program from the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) (WHO & UNICEF, 2009) and the Mother-Friendly Worksite Initiative (Texas Department of State Health Services, 2012). Although caloric restriction (CR) could delay biologic aging in humans, it is unclear if this would occur at the cost of significant bone loss. We evaluated the effect of prolonged CR on bone metabolism and bone mineral density (BMD) in healthy younger adults. Two-hundred eighteen non-obese (body mass index [BMI] 25.1?±?1.7?kg/m(2) ), younger (age 37.9?±?7.2 years) adults were randomly assigned to 25% CR (CR group, n?=?143) or ad libitum (AL group, n?=?75) for 2 years. Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, a neurological disorder characterized by inattentive and hyperactive behaviors, has become increasingly more prevalent (CDC, 2010). Recent research has found associations between this disorder and Caesarean section births (Amiri et al., 2012; Juarez et al., 2008). The current study examined the relationship between C-section birth and self-reported symptoms of ADHD by college students on the Internal Restlessness Scale (Weyandt et al., 2003). Results of the study indicate a significant difference in mean ratings of ADHD symptoms between C-section and vaginally born participants (t = 3.683, p < .000). The current study supports previous findings of a relationship between C-sections and ADHD.

The harmfulness and pervasiveness of benevolent sexism is not a well disseminated issue, despite the belief that women are treated with equality in today’s society. The current study was designed to investigate whether exercise type and motivation to exercise would predict participants’ self-reported benevolent and hostile sexism, particularly in light of gender-related stereotypes about physical activity.
