The aim of this study was to combine these two properties of chitosan and investigate its potential as a new iron (III) ion (ferric ion) adsorbing agent. Identification of 78 Candida isolates was carried out by a commercial Fungichrom test kit, the reliability of which was further confirmed by conventional biochemical tests and the API 20C kit. Differentiation between different Candida species was also observed when sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) of whole cell proteins was used. The most frequently isolated species of yeast from vaginal swabs obtained from patients was Candida albicans, which accounted for 39 of 78 (50.00%) of the isolates from women in Ankara. The protective roles of low-dose dopamine and mannitol infusion in the renal function of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery were compared in 36 patients by measuring urine N-acetyl-\beta-D- glucosaminidase activity, serum and urinary creatinine, blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels and urine output. The patients were randomly selected and received a continuous infusion of dopamine, 3 µg/kg/min (Group I), mannitol, 1 mg/kg/h (Group II), no medication (Group III) before the induction of anaesthesia. Methods: We retrospectively examined the CT and MR images of 9 patients in a vegetative state due to acute prolonged anoxia. A convenience sample of 67 maternal-infant nurses completed a modified version of Leadley's (1994) Breastfeeding Knowledge and Attitudes Survey.

Additionally, this study assessed NPs’ perceptions of the advantages and challenges to using nursing diagnoses. Data were collected by questionnaires mailed to a randomly selected national sample of 398 NPs.

Of the 249 participants, 48 NPs indicated that they use nursing diagnoses. No significant differences were found between nursing diagnosis use and selected demographic characteristics or educational preparation. A convenience sample of family members (N = 23) were surveyed with the Critical Care Family Needs Inventory (CCFNI).
