This presentation is going to bring awareness to a very common disease among younger populations. Impetigo is one of the most common skin conditions that can occur in children and athletes. The research conducted looks at the etiology, signs and symptoms, complications that can arise, and the several different treatment options that are out there for it. Included within this presentation is a first-hand experience from later in 2018 as well as a case study and a comprehensive, systematic review.

Objective: The purpose of this quality improvement project is to implement a best practice obstetric rapid response team (OB-RRT) and conduct in-situ drills of this team. The expected outcome is improved response times, self-confidence of OB-RRT team members, communication, and outcomes for obstetrical emergencies.

Design: The methodology for this project is a post-test descriptive design. There will be an educational session followed by drills to evaluate the effectiveness of the education.

Setting/Local Problem: Rural Level III Labor and Delivery Unit is part of a Level III Trauma Center campus hospital system in Southeastern North Carolina.

Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACTs) within the Veteran's Affairs system are required to manage national performance measures, specifically related to patients with Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions (ACSCs). This project focuses on the prevention and progression of renal complications for patients with diabetes by performing urine microalbumin assessments in alignment with the National Kidney Foundation's (NKF) evidence-based practice algorithm. Anticipated findings are increased microalbumin patient orders, timely completion of specimen collection, and follow up collaboration with PACTs lead medical provider, resulting in improved quality of life for patients with diabetes.

It is well documented in the literature that breastfeeding provides a myriad of health benefits for mothers and infants across the lifespan. However, rates of exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding duration have remained relatively stagnant nationwide. Breastfeeding rates are particularly low for women enrolled in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program. Breastfeeding intent and breastfeeding self-efficacy are maternal factors that have been shown to increase breastfeeding rates. Acute pancreatitis results in approximately 300,000 hospital admissions in the United States each year, at a cost of approximately $2.2 billion. Necrotizing pancreatitis, the more severe form, is defined as necrosis of the pancreatic parenchyma with or without necrosis of the peripancreatic tissues. There has been an increase in readmission rates for this patient population, especially with necrotizing pancreatitis. It occurs as a complication in 20%–30% of patients with acute pancreatitis and historically has been associated with high rates of morbidity (34%–95%) and mortality. The purpose of this study is to better understand undergraduate nurses’ experiences in learning about Indigenous health. This will determine what changes are needed within nursing education locally and across Canada. Implications for nursing education, research, practice, policy, and leadership will be drawn to provide pragmatic suggestions in improving Indigenous health status and outcomes. Background: Falls in people with a lower limb amputation (PLLAs) are common and most often occur while walking, resulting in physical and psychological consequences that adversely affect quality of life. Background: The rate of cesarean has significantly increased over the last decade with labor dystocia being the most common indicator for primary cesarean deliveries. This diagnosis was of labor dystocia was first established in the 1950’s by Emmanual A. Friedman. Due to the stark rise in cesareans, a landmark paper by Zhang challenged his definition of labor dystocia and changed the cesarean guidelines by adjusting the parameters that defined labor dystocia.
