Relying on a simple random sample of cellphone public opinion survey data of 1571 respondents collected in Albania in winter 2018-2019, we test a set of hypothesis arguing that, in cellphone public opinion surveys, female interviewers would yield better results both in terms of advancing the interview toward the last question (interview retention), and having it conducted in shorter time (interview length). Additionally, ionic liquid (IL, 1-Butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium tetra fluoroborate), iron(II) phthalocyanine (FePc) and Nafion were added into the modifier suspensions and further tested for their electro-catalytic effect. NIR spectroscopy provides the spectral signatures (i.e. “fingerprints”) of living human muscles, which represent specific, accurate, and reproducible measures of their overall biological status. We showed that chemometric analysis applied to NIR spectra acquired from the upper limb distinguishes the biceps from the triceps. We acquired muscles reflectance spectra in the Vis-SWIR regions (350-2500 nm), utilizing an ASD FieldSpec 4™ Standard-Res Spectroradiometer with a spectral sampling capability of 1.4 nm at 350-1000 nm and 1.1 nm at 1001-2500 nm. Optical spectroscopy proves effective for studying human muscles in vivo and contribute to non-invasive more thorough evaluation of the muscular system.

The synthesis of air-stable ligand-free nanopalladium hydride (PdNHx) in water was achieved and applied to various organic transformations, including (1) reduction of heteroaromatics such as (iso)quinolines, phenanthrolines, benzotriazole, and naphthyridines, (2) regio- and chemoselective reduction of nitroarenes, (3) alkyne reductions, (4) chemoselective dehalogenation, and (5) base-free detriflation. Both the synthesis of PdNHx and the reductions were carried out under mild conditions in a micellar medium using our designer surfactant PS-750-M, which eliminates the need for toxic organic solvents and extremely high hydrogen pressure and temperature. Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is defined as permanent dilation of the abdominal aorta by more than 50% of its normal diameter. As AAAs grow progressively, the aorta can rupture and cause life-threatening bleeding. Preliminary data demonstrates that angiotensin II (AngII), which can induce AAA, plus testosterone were powerful stimulants for expression of neprilysin in abdominal aortic smooth muscle cells from male mice. Neprilysin is a metalloendopeptidase, which can cleave and inactivate AngII and natriuretic peptides.
