Over the past few decades, maternal opioid use and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) have significantly increased. However, few studies have examined prevalence trends by sociodemographic variables. Therefore, the first aim of my dissertation was to determine the prevalence by year for each outcome for the total sample and by maternal race/ethnicity, education level, and insurance type.

Introduction: This study evaluated current trends and perspectives among orthodontists regarding clear aligner therapy in the mixed dentition (CAMD), including insights into perceived indications, compliance, oral hygiene, and other factors.

Methods: An original, 22-item survey was mailed to both a randomized, nationally representative sample of practicing orthodontic specialists (n = 800) and to a specific, randomized sub-sample of high-aligner-prescribing orthodontists (n = 200). Questions assessed respondents’ demographic information, experience with clear aligner therapy, and perceived advantages/disadvantages of CAMD compared to fixed appliance therapy (FA). Proteasome inhibitors, such as carfilzomib, are FDA-approved to treat multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. Unfortunately, proteasome inhibitors have only produced clinically significant results in patients with hematologic cancers, despite their predicted pan-cancer utility, and even hematologic cancer types frequently show intrinsic and acquired resistance.

One proposed mechanism responsible for the proteasome inhibitors' shortcomings is the NRF1-mediated bounce-back response. Methods: Digital intraoral scans of 10 different cases were assigned to their respective groups (n=10, each, 30 total) as follows: no crowding (control), moderate crowding, and severe crowding.
