Pretest and posttest questionnaires were designed and administered to a nonrandom sample of 29 senior nursing students, enrolled in a directed studies experience at a selected institution. The questionnaires gathered data which, through testing with the Analysis of Variance, attempted to predict the effects of selected aspects of a directed studies experience on nursing students' perceived ability to complete nursing behaviors. The independent variables were selected aspects of the directed studies experience including participation in nursing activities, satisfaction with amount of participation in nursing activities, understanding of professional role, and satisfaction with the directed studies experience as_ a whole. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between a baccalaureate nursing student's academic performance and scores received on the National Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN); and to develop an equation to predict NCLEX-RN scores.
The sample consisted of 25 generic students who graduated in 1982 and 1983 from a small private baccalaureate liberal arts college located in the Midwest. An Ex Post Facto research design, using twenty independent variables that relate to academic performance (ACT, CPA, and NLN scores), and one dependent variable (NCLEX-RN), was utilized. The purpose of this study was to determine the affects of selected personal and professional factors on nurses' perceptions of self-health as evaluated by responses to a questionnaire designed for this study. A modification of the Health Belief Model, titled the Health Perception Model, served as the conceptual model for the study.
The sample consisted of 121 registered nurses employed at a 515-bed hospital in a rural Midwestern state. A descriptive correlational design was used.

This study explores the relationship between adolescent adjustment to diabetes mellitus and the parent-child relationship. Erik Erikson's Theory of Cognitive Development served as the theoretical framework for the study. The study utilized descriptive methodology. The purpose of this investigation was twofolds (1) to determine the validity of selected submaximal field tests used to estimate aerobic capacity, and (2) to determine the association of maximal oxygen consumption with the performance of selected submaximal field test. Eighteen females (X = l.9.4 yrs) volunteered to be Ss. Prior to the first two field tests, anthropometric data of ht and wt were collected and %BF, FW, and FFW were computed from skinfold measurements. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of isotonic and isokinetic weight training on vertical jumping proficiency as measured by a modified vertical jump. The subjects were college students enrolled in the Fitness and Lifetime Activities Program at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. Isotonic and isokinetic training were assigned to the two experimental groups with the third group serving as controls. Training for the experimental groups consisted of isotonic circuit training on a Universal weight machine and isokinetic training on a Leaper machine. A nitrogen atom, for example, would be able to interact, unlike carbon, with a variety of sites in enzymes by means of ionic-ionic, ionic-dipole, dipole-dipole and hydrogen.bonds. Azasteroids having a nitrogen, atom might be adsorbed more strongly or in a different orientation to a given enzyme, and also may produce.a different biologic effect with a new spectrum of biological activities. This paper presents a study of the helminth endoparasite of the Chinese or ring-necked pheasant (Phasianus colchicus). The digestive and respiratory tracts of 262 pheasants, all of which were collected in Brown County, South Dakota, were examined. Collections were ,made from January, 1961, through November of the same year. The problem was divided as follows: (1) locating and Identifying the helminth parasites, (2) relating parasitism to the age of the birds, (3) ascertaining the seasonal distribution of the parasites, and (4) determining what gross pathological changes were due to parasitism. With the advent of improved methods of examination of muscle tissue for the presence of Trichinella spiralis and the detection of trichinosis by the skin and precipitin tests, there has been an awakening of interest in the disease which has resulted in a greatly increased volume of statistical data. The present survey was undertaken with the thought in mind that it might be of statistical interest to determine the incidence of infestation with Trichinella spiralis in patients coming to autopsy at the Louisville General Hospital. This incidence was determined by the examination of the diaphragms of these patients.
