Influence Of Adhesive On Shear Bond Strength Between Denture Base Materials And Self-Cured Silicon Soft Liner, Mohamed Ebrahim, Mohamed Ahmed, Mostafa Fayad

Al-Azhar Journal of Dentistry

Background: Soft lining materials play an important role in modern prosthodontics because of their capability of restoring health of inflamed and distorted mucosa. Gradual changes of oral tissues require that complete or partial dentures be relined to improve their adaptation to the supporting tissue. This study aimed to evaluate the shear bond strength (SBS) of heat cured acrylic and injection-molded ValplastTM denture base materials to silicone self-cure soft lining materials, with and without adhesive, after storage in two different times in artificial saliva. Materials and Methods: 40 rectangularspecimens were prepared from two types of self-cured silicone soft lining material, one with …

Effect Of Laser Treatment, Self-Adhesive Resin Cement Brand And Thermocycling On Push Out Bond Strength Of Fiber Reinforced Post, Mariem Abu El-Nour, Eman Essam, Mohsen Nour Eldeen, Ahmed Abbas

Al-Azhar Journal of Dentistry

The interface between the adhesive resin and fiber posts has an important role in their performance. However, It was found that the most frequent cause of their failure is debonding at the adhesive resin-dentin interface. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of laser treatment: Erbium, Diode or no treatment; and two brandsof self-adhesive resin cement: hydrophobic (Smartcem2) and conventional (Breeze); in addition to the effect of thermocycling on push out bond strength of Glassix fiber- reinforced composite post. A total of ninety- six freshly extracted natural human teeth were equally divided into three main groups …

Ten completely edentulous subjects were selected for this study. For each subject, true and arbitrary hinge axis positions were located. Whip Mix Quick Set Recorder was used to measure the Bennett shift and the horizontal condylar path inclination. The Bennett shift and condylar path inclinations were recorded two times, first using the arbitrary and secondary using the kinematic hinge axis as the starting point for recording. The resultof this study showed that there …
