The Australian General Practice Training National Registrar Survey (AGPT NRS) is an annual, national survey of GP registrars currently training in the AGPT program. It collects information via an online questionnaire about registrar satisfaction, experience and future career plans. It also collects information about registrars’ demographics and training contexts and other aspects of their training experience. This survey is part of the Department of Health’s (the Department) monitoring and quality improvement activities. The information collected in the AGPT NRS can be used to assure the quality of training provision in the program, enables continuous improvement and allows responses to be …

Message to the University of Maine System community from Chancellor Dannel P. Malloy regarding details of a Federal requirement that employees of a federal contractor must be either fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or seek a legally recognized exemption from vaccination for medical reasons or a sincerely held religious belief, practice or observance. UMS (including all of our universities and Maine Law) is a federal contractor, and the deadline for full compliance was December 8, 2021.

Debriefing, an important aspect of students’ clinical experience, is a reflective, critical thinking analysis and communication strategy that provides rapid feedback after either a simulated or genuine clinical event. To teach this higher-level critical thinking skill throughout the learning process, nursing programs require specific methodology and faculty expertise. The National League for Nursing supports nurse educators having a theory-based strategy, formal training, and ongoing competency evaluation. Background: Nurse educators’ transition to a concept-based curriculum requires organizational and administrative support as well as collaborative teamwork. Implementing curricular changes can be challenging. One-on-one interviews were conducted with nurse educators who shared their perspectives on transitioning from a traditional to a newly adopted concept-based baccalaureate nursing curriculum.
Objective: This study explores nurse educators’ perceptions of change as they transitioned from a traditional four-year (eight-semester) baccalaureate nursing curriculum to a three-year (eight-semester) concept-based curriculum.

Purpose: Clinical nursing instructors must participate in continuous professional learning to maintain competency in nursing practice and in clinical instruction to prepare nursing students adequately for professional practice. The purpose of this research was to examine self-study as a method of continuous professional learning in nursing education.
Procedures: A clinical instructor undertook to improve her clinical instruction with regard to five formative assessment strategies illustrated to promote student learning in regular classrooms. Background: Nurses work in a wide variety of settings. Therefore, it is essential for nursing educators to continually evaluate and adapt nursing programs to ensure that the curricula prepare students to practice in a variety of health care settings. In this study, we sought to determine which skills were routinely used by registered nurses and to examine whether the cumulative number of practice settings influenced the number, and type, of physical assessments used.

No single universal learner type exists, however historically, pedagogical practices in higher education have focused on meeting the learning needs of an average or typical student. The purpose of this study was to describe the manner and extent in which a course, designed using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, provided an inclusive learning environment to a diverse population of first-year baccalaureate nursing students. Co-instructors redesigned a large in-person and place-based course using theoretical and structural principles of UDL to remove potential learning barriers and promote authentic inclusion of all students.
