การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการคืนกลับแร่ธาตุของกลาสไอโอโนเมอร์ซีเมนต์ชนิดดัดแปลงด้วยเรซิน (Resin-modified glass ionomer cement; RMGIC) กับแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์ชนิดดัดแปลงด้วยเรซิน (Resin-modified calcium silicate cement; RMCSC) ทดสอบโดยใช้เนื้อฟันส่วนตัวฟันจากฟันกรามแท้มนุษย์จำนวน 24 ซี่ ทำการตัดตัวฟันที่รอยต่อหนึ่งส่วนสามกลางตัวและหนึ่งส่วนสามปลายฟันจากนั้นกรอเตรียมโพรงฟันชนิดคลาสวันบนผิวเนื้อฟัน บริเวณพื้นโพรงฟันจะถูกวัดความแข็งผิวระดับจุลภาคที่ 3 บริเวณ ได้แก่ บริเวณควบคุม บริเวณสูญเสียแร่ธาตุ และบริเวณคืนกลับแร่ธาตุ ทำการแบ่งแต่ละบริเวณด้วยการทาน้ำยาทาเล็บ โดยในขั้นแรกทาน้ำยาทาเล็บที่ผิวฟันรอบนอกทั้งหมด ผนังโพรงฟันโดยรอบ และ 1 ใน 3 ของพื้นโพรงฟันบริเวณแรกเพื่อแบ่งบริเวณควบคุม จากนั้นนำชิ้นงานไปผ่านสภาวะจำลองที่ส่งเสริมให้เกิดการละลายแร่ธาตุ แล้วทาน้ำยาทาเล็บที่ 1 ใน 3 ของพื้นโพรงฟันบริเวณที่สองเพื่อแบ่งบริเวณสูญเสียแร่ธาตุ แบ่งชิ้นทดสอบออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม กลุ่มละ 12 ชิ้น โดยกลุ่มแรกบูรณะโพรงฟันด้วย RMGIC (กลุ่ม RMGIC) และอีกกลุ่มบูรณะด้วย RMCSC (กลุ่ม RMCSC) เมื่อบูรณะเสร็จ จากนั้นแช่ตัวอย่างทั้งหมดในน้ำปราศจากไอออนที่อุณหภูมิ 37 องศาเซลเซียสเป็นเวลา 30 วัน ทำการฝังชิ้นงานทั้งหมดอะคริลิกเรซิน และตัดเป็นครึ่งชิ้นงานตามแนวใกล้กลาง-ไกลกลาง วัดค่าความแข็งระดับจุลภาคชนิดนูปทั้งสามบริเวณที่ระยะ 20, 40, 60, 100, 150 และ 200 µm จากรอยต่อระหว่างวัสดุบูรณะกับพื้นโพรงฟัน โดยทำการวัดซ้ำในแต่ละระยะเป็นจำนวนสามรอยกด มีระยะห่างระหว่างรอยกด 100 µm คำนวณความแตกต่างของค่าเฉลี่ยความแข็งระดับจุลภาคแบบนูปในแต่ละบริเวณ วิเคราะห์ความลึกของการเกิดการคืนกลับแร่ธาตุในแต่ละวัสดุด้วยสถิติ paired t-test และเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการคืนกลับแร่ธาตุระหว่างวัสดุด้วยสถิติ independent t-test กำหนดระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ p <.05 จากผลการศึกษาพบว่าความลึกของการเกิดการคืนกลับแร่ธาตุของวัสดุทั้งสองชนิดมีไม่แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ อย่างไรก็ตาม การเปลี่ยนแปลงของค่าความแข็งระดับจุลภาคแบบนูปหลังผ่านการคืนกลับแร่ธาตุของกลุ่ม RMCSC ต่ำกว่ากลุ่ม RMGIC จากผลการศึกษานี้จึงสรุปได้ว่าวัสดุ RMGIC มีแนวโน้มมีประสิทธิภาพในการคืนกลับแร่ธาตุมากกว่าวัสดุ RMCSC

Background and Aims

Multitarget stool DNA (MT-sDNA) testing is used in primary care as a screening test for colon cancer. Test effectiveness and patient compliance were examined in clinical practice.

Methods

We assessed outcomes of MT-sDNA testing in a cohort study conducted in a large integrated healthcare system comprising 15 hospitals and 150 outpatient clinics using advanced electronic data capture (Clarity2 [Epic, Verona, Wisc, USA] and REDCap [Encinitas, Calif, USA]) followed by manual chart review to confirm MT-sDNA test results and to monitor the outcomes of subsequent colonoscopy.

Purpose

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive lung disorder with few available treatments. Mesenchymal stem cell therapy (MSCT), an innovative approach, has high therapeutic potential when used to treat IPF. According to recent data, preconditioning of MSCs can improve their therapeutic effects. Our research focuses on investigating the anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic effects of H2O2-preconditioned MSCs (p-MSCs) on mice with bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis (PF).

The advent of porous materials, in particular zeolitic nanoparticles, has opened up unprecedented putative research avenues in nanomedicine. Zeolites with intracrystal mesopores are low framework density aluminosilicates possessing a regular porous structure along with intricate channels. Purpose: To evaluate the effect of different enamel conditioning protocols and their re-application on the microleakage of fissure sealants placed following saliva contamination.

Study design: The study included 156 human third molars in 16 subgroups (2×4×2) under two main groups (sealant type): Group A- hydrophobic resin sealant, 3M Clinpro™ Sealant; Group B- hydrophilic resin sealant, Ultraseal XT Hydro. The entry level for the dental hygiene profession has, historically been an associate degree. In 2016 the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA) approved the Bachelor’s Degree level of education as the preferred for entry level degree. This study is to determine practicing West Virginia dentists preference for the education level of their entry-level dental hygiene employees. There were 1020 surveys electronically distributed to practicing WV dentists to obtain their opinions and preferences. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in the precision, trueness, and accuracy of 3D printed orthodontic clear retainers produced using printer systems with various printing technologies.

Methods: Retainers (n=15) were printed using four different 3D printers: a stereolithography (SLA) printer, two different digital light processing (DLP and cDLP) printers, and a polyjet photopolymer (PPP) printer. Purpose: Compromised tooth structure on permanent and deciduous teeth in the pediatric population is increasingly being restored with tooth-colored prefabricated zirconia crowns. These restorations may need to be removed or replaced with permanent crowns. The purpose of this in vitro study was to explore the use of an Er,Cr:YSGG laser for removal of prefabricated zirconia crowns cemented with RMGI as a non-invasive alternative to rotary instruments.

Periodontal diseases are ubiquitous diseases. They can affect people through a chronic infection that happens over a lifetime, but also as an aggressive infection that afflicts the younger population. It not only results in tooth loss and a lower quality of life, but it can also lead to fatal secondary infections like cervical cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. More than 700 different types of microorganisms dwell in human oral mucosal surfaces. The interactions between these microorganisms contribute to formation of polymicrobial communities on hard and soft tissues as well as on dentures and implants. Candida albicans, a pleomorphic fungus inhabiting oral and gastrointestinal (GIT) mucosa becomes pathogenic in favourable conditions causing local or systemic disease. Background: Acemannan, a linear polysaccharide produced by Aloe vera has been shown to have important biological functions promoting wound healing and tissue regeneration. Objective: The aim of this randomized clinical trial was to investigate the impact of acemannan in guided bone regeneration (GBR) with simultaneous implant. Materials and methods: Twenty patients were randomly allocated to test- (Deproteinized bovine bone with Acemannan particulate with mean size of 32.45µm) and control groups (Deproteinized bovine bone only). Objective: This study aimed to compare cephalometric variables between esthetically acceptable normal, concave, and convex profile groups as well as between each group and adult Thai normative values. Materials and Methods: Three-hundred and three profile silhouettes from post-treatment lateral cephalometric radiographs of 18–37 year-old orthodontic patients were scored by 5 Thai orthodontists and 15 orthodontic patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the bond strength of a light cured resin when cured through 3 different types of dental ceramics (traditional zirconia with 3 mol% yttria, translucent zirconia with 5 mol% yttria, and lithium disilicate) at 2 different thicknesses.
