Dens in dente เป็นผลจากความผันแปรในวิวัฒนาการของฟัน และจากความ ผิดปกติในรูปร่างของฟันชนิดนี้ จะก่อให้เกิดพยาธิสภาพปลายรากฟันได้ง่าย ซึ่ง Dens in dente ในฟันกรามพบได้น้อยมาก ในรายงานนี้กล่าวถึงผู้ป่วยหญิงไทยอายุ 31 ปี มีประวัติของก้อนเนื้องอกและทางเปิดของหนองที่บริเวณกระพุ้งแก้มด้านขวามาประมาณ 1 เดือน ภาพถ่ายทางรังสีแสดง Dens in dente ที่เกิดร่วมกับถุงน้ำปลายรากในฟันกรามล่างขวาที่สาม และผลทางพยาธิวิทยาภายหลังจากถอนฟันซี่นี้ พบว่าเป็นถุงน้ำติดเชื้อปลายรากฟัน

The total of 495 cases (300 females and 195 males) of a representative sample from the treatment files of Faculty of Dentistry Chulalongkorn University were reviewed. The congenitally absence of thir molars were recorded from the orthopantomogram. The average age of the patien was 15.7 years which taken between the ages of 12 and 22 years. All of the cases studied, 32.8% had occured in male and 31.66% occured in female. สถานภาพของสารซีแลนท์ต่องานทันตกรรม ป้องกันในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร, สุวรัตน์ ลุศนันทน์, โอบเอื้อ เจริญทรัพย์, ยุทธนา ปัญญางาม

ทันตแพทย์ 167 คน ในหน่วยบริการของรัฐและวิสาหกิจในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร 17 แห่ง ยกเว้นหน่วยงานสังกัดทบวงมหาวิทยาลัยได้ตอบแบบสอบถามความคิดเห็น และ การใช้สารซีแลนท์ ในงานทันตกรรมป้องกัน ซึ่งคิดเป็นร้อยละ 60.07 ของผู้ได้รับแบบสอบถามทั้งหมด 278 คน พบว่าร้อยละ 45.32 ของผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามได้รับความรู้เรื่องสารซีแลนท์จากการพูดคุยระหว่างเพื่อนร่วมงาน และคําแนะนําของบริษัทผู้ผลิตหรือผู้แทนจําหน่ายซึ่ง มากกว่าได้รับจากแหล่งทางวิชาการโดยตรง ทันตแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่ที่ตอบแบบสอบถามเชื่อว่าสารซีแลนท์สามารถป้องกันการเกิดรอยผุได้แต่มีทันตแพทย์เพียงร้อยละ 13.17 เท่านั้นที่ใช้สารซีแลนท์เป็นประจําเมื่อเห็นสมควร ร้อยละ 28.75 ที่เคยใช้แล้วเลิกใช้ในปัจจุบัน และร้อยละ 58.08 ไม่เคยใช้สารนี้เลยโดยให้เหตุผลที่ไม่ใช้สารซีแลนท์แตกต่างกันไปที่สําคัญได้แก่ อาจปิดทับรอยรั่วหรือปิดทับบริเวณหลุมและร่องบนผิวฟันไม่สนิท ทําให้เกิดรอยข้างใต้ได้ อาจปิดทับรอยผุที่ยังตรงจไม่พบและสารซีแลนท์ยึดติดกับผิวเคลือบฟันไม่ได้นาน ส่วนทันตบุคลากรที่เป็นผู้ใช้สารผู้ใช้สารซีแลนท์นอกจากทันตแพทย์แล้ว ทันตานามัยและทันตาภิบาลสมควรเป็นผู้ใช้ด้วย เพื่อให้บรรลุตามเป้าหมายด้านทันตสุขภาพขององค์การอนามัยโลก ซึ่งมุ่งที่จะควบคุมค่าเฉลี่ย ฟันผุ ถอน อุด ของเด็กกลุ่มอายุ 12 ปี ให้มีค่าไม่เกิน 3 คน ในปี 2543 จึงจําเป็น ต้องสนับสนุนและเผยแพร่ให้มีการใช้สารซีแลนท์เป็นมาตรการหนึ่งของงานทันตกรรมป้องกัน ให้แพร่หลายยิ่งกว่าในปัจจุบันนี้ เนื่องจากสารซีแลนท์เป็นสิ่งซึ่งผลิตขึ้นมาสําหรับป้องกันการ เกิดรอยยุบนด้านสบฟัน ซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็นหลุมและร่องและมีอุบัติการณ์การเกิดรอยผุสูงที่สุดของซี่ฟัน

องค์ประกอบที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการใช้บริการทันตกรรมในนักเรียน ม.ศ.ปลายเฉพาะกลุ่ม ที่จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ, สุนทร ระพิสุวรรณ, คมสันต์ บุญยสิงห์, สมพล เล็กเฟื่องฟู

การศึกษานี้ เป็นการศึกษาถึงลักษณะของการใช้บริการทันตกรรม และองค์ประกอบที่จะมีอิทธิพลต่อการใช้บริการ โดยใช้แบบสอบถามซึ่งประยุกต์มาจากแบบสอบถามขององค์การอนามัยโลก ตัวอย่างที่ใช้ศึกษา เป็นนักเรียนชั้น ม.ศ. 4-5 ของโรงเรียนประจําจังหวัดสมุทรปราการ จํานวน 223 คน ผลจากการ ศึกษาพบว่า นักเรียน 62.27 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ไปใช้บริการทันตกรรมต่อเมื่อตนเอง มีอาการปวดฟัน หรือประสงค์จะถอนฟัน 15.70 เปอร์เซ็นต์ ใช้บริการทันตกรรมครั้งสุดท้าย ภายในระยะเวลา 12 เดือน และองค์ประกอบซึ่งมีอิทธิพลต่อการไปใช้ บริการทันตกรรมของนักเรียนกลุ่มนี้ ได้แก่ ระดับการศึกษาของบิดา, มารดา และรายได้ต่อเดือนของครอบครัว นอกจากนี้การศึกษานี้ยังพบว่า ความเชื่อที่ว่าตนเอง ไม่เป็นโรคฟันผุหรือโรคเหงือก และไม่สามารถจะนัดหรือไปหาทันตแพทย์ได้ เป็นเหตุผลสําคัญที่นักเรียนกลุ่มนี้ใช้อ้างในการไม่ไปใช้บริการทันตกรรมทุก ๆ 12 เดือน

การประเมินทันตสุขภาพของชุมชนชนบทหนึ่งในจังหวัดจันทบุรี, สมพล เล็กเฟื่องฟู, วีรศักดิ์ เหลืองจามีกร, สุนทร ระพิสุวรรณ

ได้ทําการประเมินทันตสุขภาพของชุมชนชนบทหมู่ที่ 6 ตําบลเกวียนหัก อําเภอขลุง จังหวัดจันทบุรี จํานวน 152 คน (85 % ของประชากรทั้งหมู่บ้าน) อายุตั้งแต่ 2 ปีขึ้นไป ถึงอายุมากกว่า 60 ปี โดยใช้อุปกรณ์เครื่องมือและแบบฟอร์มการสํารวจเหมือนกับการศึกษาที่หมู่บ้านหินดาษ ตําบลดงน้อย กิ่งอําเภอ ราชสาสน์ จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา ผลของการศึกษานี้พบสภาวะของโรคฟันผุมีอัตราสูงมากทั้งในวัยเด็ก (100%) และในวัยหนุ่มสาว (100%) ความจําเป็นที่ต้อง บูรณะโรคฟันผุด้วยการอุดฟัน หรือการถอนฟันแตกต่างกันไปตามวัยอายุ สภาวะ ของคราบฟันและหินปูนพบได้มาก (50 %) ในทุกวัย แต่จะพบโรคเหงือกอักเสบ มากในวัยกลางคนขึ้นไป (67.86 %) ร่วมไปกับโรคปริทันต์ (1.54%) ความ จําเป็นที่ต้องมีการขูดหินปูนร่วมไปกับการสอนทันตสุขศึกษาพบมากที่สุดในวัยเด็ก (88.89 %) และวัยหนุ่มสาว (85.71 %) การรักษาเฉพาะทางของโรคปริทันต์ โดยไม่มีการถอนฟันมีความจําเป็นมากในวัยสูงอายุ (18.75 %) และวัยกลางคน (17.86%) ความจําเป็นในการรักษาโรคปริทันต์โดยร่วมไปกับการถอนฟันบางที่พบได้เท่า ๆ กันทั้งในวัยกลางคนและวัยสูงอายุ (25.00%) คนสูงอายุจําเป็นต้องถูกถอนฟันหมดปากคิดเป็น 6.25 % การใส่ฟันปลอมมีความจําเป็นมากที่สุดในวัยผู้ใหญ่ (เฉพาะบน 51.22 % และล่าง 70.73%) การศึกษานี้ไม่พบสภาพแผลในช่องปาก

สเตร็พโตคอคคัส มิวแทนส์ (Streptococcus mutans) ที่เป็นสาเหตุของ โรคฟันผุ ทั้งในคน และในสัตว์ มีความสัมพันธ์กับการสร้างสารโพลีแซคคาไรด์ นอกเซลล์ (Extracellular polysaccharides) ที่เป็นเมือกเหนียวจากน้ำตาล ซูโครส และจากการพบ สเตรฟโตคอคคัส มิวแทนส์ เป็นจํานวนมากในแผ่นคราบ จุลินทรีย์ที่ทําให้เกิดโรคฟันผุในคน กับความสามารถผลิตกรดออกมาได้เป็นจํานวน มากนี้ ได้แสดงให้เห็นว่า สเตร็พโตคอคคัส มิวแทนส์ มีบทบาทอันสําคัญในการ ทําให้เกิดโรคฟันผุในคน

ในภาวะไม่มีออกซิเจน สเตร็พโตคอคคัส มิวแทนส์ เจริญได้ดีในสารละลายน้ำตาล แลคโตส ซูโครส แมนนิทอล และกลูโคสที่ความเข้มข้นตั้งแต่ 0.1% ขึ้นไป แต่เจริญได้น้อยกว่าในสารละลายน้ำตาลไซลิทอลทุกความเข้มข้น การผลิตกรดแลคติคจากสารละลายน้ำตาลโดยสเตร็พโตคอคคัส มิวแทนส์ พบว่า เชื้อผลิตกรดจากน้ำตาลไซลิทอลได้น้อยมากเมื่อเทียบกับจํานวนกรดแลคติคที่ผลิตจากน้ำตาลชนิดอื่น ส่วนในสารละลายน้ำตาลกลูโคส 1 และ 3 เชื้อสามารถผลิตกรดแลคติคได้มากกว่าสารละลายน้ำตาลชนิดอื่น

An Evaluation Of 17-4 Precipitation-Hardenable Stainless Steel Alloy For Use As An Orthodontic Wire, Martin G. Martz

Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects

17-4 precipitation-hardenable stainless steel, a high strength alloy developed for aircraft applications, has been examined for possible use in orthodontics. The effects of solution treatment, various refrigeration treatments, and various aging treatments on standard tensile properties were measured. Comparisons were made with the tensile properties of 18-8 stainless steel and a Co-Cr alloy presently used in orthodontics.

Solution treatment was found to decrease ultimate strength by 37.8%, 0.2% yield strength by 45.9%, and (YS)/E ratio by 36.7%, while having almost no effect on elastic modulus or percentage elongation. Refrigeration treatments had statistically significant but small effects on tensile properties. Aging …
