Jurnal Kultivasi
The demand for high-quality pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) planting materials continues to increase, while conventional propagation methods are limited in multiplication rate, uniformity, and production efficiency. In vitro culture offers an alternative approach for rapid and large-scale seedling production. However, information on the effects of thiamine and cytokinin combinations on both shoot multiplication and phenolic-flavonoid accumulation in pineapple in vitro remains limited. This study evaluated ten defined combinations of thiamine and cytokinin for shoot multiplication and total phenolic-flavonoid contents of pineapple explants. The experiment employed a completely randomized design with 10 treatment combinations of thiamine (0.1 and 0.4 mg/L), …

Performance Of Dual-Form Terminalia Catappa Organic Fertilizers On Sweet Corn Yield And Economic Viability In Tropical Highlands, Stefina Liana Sari, Eso Solihin, Rahmat Budiarto
Jurnal Kultivasi
Recycling underutilized plant biomass into organic fertilizers underpins low-input cropping strategies, but liquid and solid formulations derived from a common feedstock have seldom been evaluated side by side under field conditions. This study aimed to (i) characterize the physicochemical properties and safety profile of a liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) and a crumb-type organic fertilizer (COF) co-produced from Terminalia catappa leaf compost, (ii) compare their effects on sweet corn growth and yield, (iii) determine relative agronomic effectiveness (RAE), and (iv) evaluate economic feasibility of the most promising organic–inorganic combinations. We produced LOF and COF through aerobic composting of Terminalia catappa leaves …

Response Of Chlorophyll, Morphology, And Yield Of Several East Java Superior Soybean (Glycine Max L.) Varieties To Levels Of Salinity, Puji Lestari Tarigan, Ida Retno Moeljani, Fadila Suryandika, Hadi Munarko
Jurnal Kultivasi
Soybean production has been extended to saline areas. This development is a strategy to expand planting areas to suboptimal land to increase worldwide production. To support cultivation in these locations, it is necessary to develop superior varieties that are resistant to salinity and provide supporting technological inputs. In saline conditions, soybeans may face stress that leads to morphological, physiological, and yield disturbances. Consequently, the response of several soybeans in East Java should be observed. This study is a pot experiment and arranged in a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors, soybean varieties and NaCl concentrations. The treatments …

Jurnal Kultivasi
Roses are known as a high-value commodity frequently used in various important events. However, they are susceptible to postharvest quality deterioration, which can affect their vase life and appearance. In this study, roses with a blooming stage of approximately 25–50% were immersed in melatonin and 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) solutions at different concentrations. This research aims to analyze the effect of melatonin and BAP application on the freshness of cut roses. The parameters observed included flower vase life, flower wilting angle, increase in flower diameter, fresh weight, solution uptake, and chlorophyll content. The results showed that melatonin and BAP, applied individually or …

A Review On Detection Of Drought Stress In Tea Plants Through Morphological, Physiological, And Biochemical Approaches, Intan Ratna Dewi Anjarsari, Erni Suminar, Nabila Ragil Wiharti
Jurnal Kultivasi
Tea plants (Camellia sinensis) are important commodities with high economic value, but their production is greatly affected by environmental stresses such as drought and extreme temperatures. Global warming in recent years has led to extreme weather events and an increase in the earth's temperature, which also causes drought. Drought stress is one of the most significant abiotic factors affecting crop productivity. However, despite significant progress, there remains a notable gap in research, particularly the lack of integrated studies that combine morphological, physiological, and biochemical indicators for early and precise detection of drought stress in tea plants. To identify and mitigate …

Impacts Of Gibberellin Application On Citrus: An Overview From Seed Germination To Fruit Quality Enhancement, Siti Auliya Rahma, Rahmat Budiarto, Syariful Mubarok, Supatida Abdullakasim
Jurnal Kultivasi
Gibberellins are key plant hormones, and their application in citrus plants is frequently reported. This review aims to provide an overview of the application of gibberellic acid (GA3) in citrus cultivation, emphasizing their effects on growth, flowering, fruit quality, and ripening. Citrus fruits often face challenges like irregular fruit set, size inconsistency, and environmental stress, impacting yield and profitability, with exogenous gibberellin application as a potential solution. Applying gibberellins can accelerate citrus seed germination and seedling growth, enhance vegetative growth, inhibit flowering, delay fruit ripening, and improve fruit quality. However, the efficacy of gibberellins varies across species and conditions, highlighting …

An Overview Of Gibberellin Inhibitors For Regulating Vegetable Growth And Development, Erik Setiawan, Rahmat Budiarto, Jajang Sauman Hamdani, Mansour Ghorbanpour
Jurnal Kultivasi
Gibberellin (GAs) promotes plant growth processes like germination, shoot elongation, root development, and flowering, while its inhibition is occasionally used in some vegetable crop practices. This paper aims to review the current literature on GAs inhibitors in practical vegetable crops and suggest future strategies for increasing yield. In some vegetable crops, inhibiting GAs with natural (abscisic acid, ethylene) or synthetic (paclobutrazol, prohexadione-Ca) regulators is key to improving yield and quality. Abscisic acid (ABA) counteracts GAs in germination and stress adaptation, while ethylene (ET) opposes GAs in senescence and growth inhibition. The application of paclobutrazol (PBZ) and prohexadione-Ca (Pro-Ca) is known …

Response Of Tomato Seed Germination To Several Extraction Techniques And Magnetic Field Exposure Treatments, Visira Deva Shakina, Anne Nuraini, Anne Nurbaity
Jurnal Kultivasi
The superior seeds are indicated by clean, good germination rate, pest and disease-free. One of the problems in providing superior tomato seeds is the presence of pulp attached to the tomato seeds, leading to less clean of seed. To remove the muscus on tomato seeds, the seeds have to be extracted. Other than seeds extraction, seeds exposure also could optimize seeds growth by increasing the metabolism of the tomato. The aim of this research is to determine the best extraction technique and magnetic field exposure for obtaining high tomato seeds germination. The complete random design used in this research consist …

In Vitro Multiplication Of Strawberry In Various Types And Concentrations Of Cytokinins And Auxins, Erni Suminar, Vira Rahmawati, Sumadi, Anne Nuraini
Jurnal Kultivasi
Growth regulator is one of the important factors in the success of plant propagation by tissue culture. 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) is one of the most widely used cytokinin because it is more stable, less expensive and more effective. Thidiazuron (TDZ) can increase the action of other cytokinins, either exogenous cytokinin or endogenous cytokinin. 1-Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) belongs to the more stable auxin group, because it is not easily decomposed and oxidized by enzymes released by plants. This study aimed to obtain the best types and concentrations of BAP, TDZ, and NAA for the in vitro multiplication of strawberry explant. The experiment …
