Heavy Metal Levels In Some Macrofungi, Fadi̇me Yilmaz, Mustafa Işiloğlu, Melek Merdi̇van

This study was done on edible, inedible and poisonous macrofungi collected around the Balıkesir-Manisa highway from two different areas (roadside and background area) in 1998-1999. Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Co, Cd, Ni and Pb contents were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometer in 256 samples belonging to 24 macrofungi species. The habitat, edibility and distribution of the taxa in the families were listed. According to mean dry weight (DW), Mn, Co and Cd contents were high in Omphalotus olearius (DC.: Fr.) Fr., which is a poisonous macrofungus species compared to the others; however, Fe levels were also extremely high. The lowest …

Two species of lichenized Ascomycotina, Cyphelium notarisii (Tul.) Blomb. & Forss. and Strangospora moriformis (Ach.) Stein are newly reported for Turkey. Both species were collected from Pinus nigra subsp. pallasiana in Eskişehir province.

The research area is situated in Kahramanmaraş province. In this study, during the period 1998-1999 1265 plant specimens, 67 families, 268 genera, 520 species and eight subspecies were collected and identified. The total number of specific and infraspecific taxa is 528. Thirty-five of the 528 taxa are new records for the C6 square. The number of endemic plants is 55 (10.42%). The distribution rates of the specimens into phytogeographical regions are as follows: Mediterranean elements 145 (27.46%), Irano-Turanian elements 76 (14.39%) and Euro-Siberian elements 23 (4.36%).

The vascular flora of the central part of the Abant Nature Park (Bolu, Turkey) was assessed during 1994-1995. Plants (1440 specimens) were collected from the research area and by the evaluation of them and the relevant literature it was determined that there are 664 species in the area including 150 subspecies and 67 varieties, belonging to 84 families and 332 genera. The largest family is Asteraceae (68; 10.3%) and the second largest is Poaceae (55; 8.3%). The largest genus is Veronica L. (15; 2.3%) and the second largest is Ranunculus L. (12; 1.8%). The material of this study comprises macrofungi specimens which were collected from different localities in Alanya district in the Mediterranean region between 1999 and 2001. As a result of field and laboratory studies 188 taxa belonging to two classes and 38 families were identified. Eleven taxa belonged to Ascomycetes and 177 to Basidiomycetes.

This study was conducted on specimens of macrofungi collected from Tokat province between 1998 and 2000. Five species belong to the class Ascomycetes and 54 to the class Basidiomycetes and they are as follows; Ascomycetes: Helvellaceae: 1, Morchellaceae: 3, Nectriaceae: 1, Basidiomycetes: Lycoperdaceae: 3, Sclerotermatacea: 1, Tremellaceae: 1, Ganodermataceae: 1, Rhizopogonaceae: 1, Polyporaceae: 8, Schizophyllaceae: 1, Nidulariaceae: 1, Pleurotaceae: 2, Boletaceae: 5, Tricholomataceae: 8, Agaricaceae: 9, Coprinaceae: 7, Strophariaceae: 1, Cortinariaceae: 2, Russulaceae: 3. Coprinus fimetarius (L.) Fr., Coprinus silvaticus (L.: Fr.) Fr., and Cortinarius violaceus (L.: Fr.) Fr. are new records for Turkish mycoflora.

Four species of myxomycetes are recorded for the first time from Turkey: Licea variabilis Schard., Licea synsporos Nann.-Brem., Oligonema schweinitzii Martin, and Didymium iridis (Ditmar) Fries. Furthermore, Oligonema Rost. is a new genus record for Turkey.

Some macrofungi specimens were collected from Yahyalı (Kayseri) province in 2000-2001. As a result of field and laboratory studies, 94 taxa belonging to 28 families were identified. Nine species belong to Ascomycotina and 85 to Basidiomycotina. The distribution, habitat and collecting numbers of the identified species are given.

This study presents a survey on the bryophyte flora of Madran mountain and Çine valley (Aydın, Turkey). One hundred and thirty-three bryophyte species belonging to 35 families and 69 genera were recorded from the area. Phaeoceros laevis (L.) Prosk. is the only member of the hornworts while liverworts are represented by 15 species. The remaining 117 taxa belong to the Bryopsida. Thirty-five species are new records for square C11 according to Henderson's (1961) grid system.

Thirty myxomycetes species are new records for Turkey. Among these species, Craterium minutum (Leers) Fries, Dianema repens G.Lister & Cran., Lindbladia tubulina Fries and Tubifera ferrruginosa (Batsch) J.F.Gmel. are also new genus record taxa for the myxomycetes flora of Turkey.

One hundred and fourteen species and 2 varieties, which belong to the 29 families in Ascomycotina, are reported from Çamlıhemşin county, Rize province. Seventy-eight species and 1 variety are new records for Rize.

A floristic study of Kazankaya Canyon was carried out. Sixty families, 216 genera and 308 taxa were identified. A species new to science was found from the genus Scorzonera L. (Compositae). Fifty-two taxa (16.9%) are Irano-Turanian, 41 (13.3%) Mediterranean and 11 (3.6%) Euro-Siberian phytogeographic region elements. The remaining 195 (63.3%) taxa are multi-regional and 9 (2.9%) are not from a determined phytogeographic region. The life forms were determined according to Raunkiaer. The number of endemic taxa is 24 (7.8%). Four taxa show variations not previously reported in the literature. Thirty-four taxa are new floristic records for the square A5.

This paper deals with a floristic study of Karagüney Mountain (Kırıkkale/Turkey). The study was carried out during 1989-1991 and 2500 vascular plant samples were collected. Eight hundred and sixty-eight taxa of 378 genera have been identified. Fabaceae, Asteraceae and Poaceae are the largest families and Astragalus L., Silene L. and Salvia L. are the largest genera in the area. The endemism rate of the area is 13.1%. The classification of the taxa into three main chorological units shows that Irano-Turanian elements are predominant. Threatened categories were proposed for 109 taxa according to IUCN categories.

Macrofungi were collected during field trips in the Ağrı district between 1997 and 2000. At the end of field and laboratory studies, 45 taxa belonging to 3 classes and 18 families were identified. Three of these, Pluteus ephebeus (Fr.:Fr.) Gill. (Pluteaceae), Coprinus auricomus Pat. (Coprinaceae) and Inocybe tigrina Heim. (Cortinariaceae), are new records for the mycoflora of Turkey.

The natural and cultivated plants of Tuzaklı, Otluk, Gidefi mountains and their surroundings were studied between 1994 and 1997; 2486 herbarium specimens belonging to 1023 taxa, 484 genera and 98 families were collected and identified from the areas. Sixty-one taxa are cultivated and the rest are native plants. The phytogeographic elements are represented in the study area as follows: Mediterranean 360 (37.4%), Irano-Turanian 86 (8.9%) and Euro-Siberian 35 (3.6%). The phytogeographic regions of 481 (50%) taxa are either multi-regional or unknown. Phytogeographic regions are recommended for 12 taxa, of which phytogeographic regions have not been previously suggested. The life forms …

The flora of Kelkit Valley was investigated between 1990 and 1993. In the vegetation period, a total of 2800 plant specimens were collected. At the end of the study, 1316 species and subspecies and 519 genera belonging to 105 families were established. Of these, 132 taxa are endemic to Turkey and the ratio is 10.03%. The rates of taxa which are included in certain phytogeographical regions are as follows: Irano-Turanian 14.75%, Euro-Siberian 12.69% and Mediterranean 11.40%.

The occurrence of lichens and air pollution in the city of İzmir were investigated according to VDI-Guideline 3799 Part 1. In all, 45 epiphytic lichen species were found in 1092 releves. Different distribution patterns discriminated in the study area were used to evaluate air quality. A predominant part of the city area is heavily polluted; this pollution decreases in green spaces and in the outer zone of the study area. The field studies have been carried out to determine the flora of Mount Musa between 1994-1996. Nearly, 1000 plant specimens were collected. After identification of these specimens, total flora has been determinated as 522 taxa at specific and subspecific ranks belonging to 287 genera and 87 families. The largest three families are Fabaceae (67 species), Asteraceae (55 species) and Lamiaceae (45 species). The largest genus is Trifolium L. (14 species) and the second is Vicia L. (11 species). Mount Kısır constitutes the study area; the northern and western parts are within the boundary of the Çıldır district (Ardahan), the southwestern part is within the boundary of Susuz and the eastern and southeastern parts are within the boundary of Arpacay (Kars). In this study, three Cyanophyceae species new for Turkey are reported. These specimens are Oscillatoria bonnemaisonii (P.Crouan & H.Crouan) P.Crouan & H.Crouan, Microcoleus chthonoplastes Thuret (Oscillatoriales) and Dichothrix spiralis Fritsch (Nostocales). They were determined to be epiphytic on the other algae which were found at the upper-infralittoral zone of the bay of İskenderun (Mediterranean Sea, Turkey).
