Interruptin B from the fern Cyclosorus terminans has been indicated as a ligand of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-α and -γ that is known to regulate glucose homeostasis. Interruptin B was previously been implicated to promote glucose consumption into adipocytes. This study aimed to examine the anti-diabetic impact of interruptins A and B on glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis in mouse hepatocytes. Cell viability of FL83B hepatocytes affected by interruptins A and B was determined. The glucose consumption after 12–24 h treatment with compounds was evaluated by glucose oxidase method. Purpose: Despite the burden of stroke globally, there is a lack of data on the current clinical profile of stroke in middle and low-income countries including, India. Hence, the purpose of this study was to identify risk factors, clinical presentations, and importantly, prescription trends in ischemic stroke patients. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted for six months using data of 350 ischemic stroke patients for the analysis of risk factors and prescription pattern. However, short half-life and poor bioavailability have limited its application. Aim: The current investigation work sums up the enumerating improvement and depiction of brinzolamide and brimonidine tartrate ophthalmic nanoemulsion giving widened helpful effect and improved visual penetration for treating glaucoma. Methodology: Nanoemulsion was formulated using polysorbate 80, castor oil and glycerol using the continuous emulsification technique. Preliminary batches were screened subject to in vitro medication release, globule size, zeta potential, and stability with regards to accelerated and long time. In this study, sugars (glucose, fructose, and sucrose) and amino acids in plum and yuzu wines were quantified with a new and simple method involving an electrochemical detector (ECD) and core–shell column (S-30/70 = Styrene/divinylbenzene – 5 tetramethyldiaminohexane). Analysis was conducted under the following conditions: A column temperature (40°C), flow rate (0.3 mL/min), injection volume (20 μL), and mobile phase (0.1 mol/L NaOH). Glucose, fructose, and sucrose had retention times of 14.68 min, 16.22 min, and 19.29 min, respectively, when measured using an ECD. Background: Tithonia diversifolia has been widely developed as an anticancer therapy. Our previous study before showed that T. diversifolia was able to inhibit cell proliferation and collagen accumulation of keloid fibroblasts and decrease the index of rabbit scar hypertrophy. The acute dermal toxicity study of T. diversifolia gel formulation did not show toxic effect for 14 days and the LD50 was estimated more than 2%. Purpose: Fluocinolone acetonide (FA) preparations were developed in the forms of premicroemulsion concentrates and microemulsions and their stabilities were evaluated. Materials and Methods: A pseudoternary diagram of clove oil, surfactant mixture (containing polysorbate80: Polyethylene glycol 400 [PEG400] at the ratio of 2:1), and water was constructed for the formulation of FA premicroemulsion concentrates and microemulsions. Physical properties and chemical stabilities of the preparations were monitored in the absence and presence of three antioxidants. Their beyond-use dates were determined. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) originated from fermented foods, are generally known to possess the lipolytic activity which provides the desirable flavor of the products. However, the researches on their lipolytic activity are limited. Therefore, LAB with lipolytic activity derived from traditional fermented foods and plants in Thailand were isolated and identified based on the phenotypic characteristics and 16S rRNA gene sequences. Brevundimonas diminuta (B. diminuta) is found in the health-care environment and in the community. At present, there are few reports of infections caused by this microorganism, especially in patients undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). A 44-year-old woman undergoing CAPD was diagnosed with a B. diminuta infection. Ceftriaxone was given both intravenously and intraperitoneally. After treatment with ceftriaxone, the peritoneal dialysis fluid white cell count, neutrophil count, and symptoms improved. Objective: Regardless of effective harm reduction services (HRS) in Thanyarak Hospital, difficulties exist while implementing them in community hospitals. This study aimed to investigate the complexities of HRS implementation in two community hospitals in Mae Hong Son. Methods: Phase 1, in-depth interviews were conducted with 21 participants to investigate the complexity of HRS dissemination. An interview guide was developed from the seven domains of the Non-adoption, Abandonment, Scale-up, Spread, and Sustainability framework, and thematic analysis was used. We evaluated antioxidant effect of virgin coconut oil (VCO) against arsenic-induced oxidative stress-mediated hepatorenal damage in rats. Methods: Rats were randomly divided into three groups: Control group, as group, and VCO + As group. VCO was orally administered before and along with arsenic (10 mg/kg body weight, orally) for 21 days. Introduction: Geophila obvallata (Rubiaceae) is a medicinal herb used for the treatment of diseases associated with oxidative damage. Objective: The study investigated the toxic effects of acute and sub-acute oral doses of methanol extracts of G. obvallata (GOE) in rats. Materials and Methods: In acute toxicity study, extract doses of 1600, 2900, and 5000 mg/kg were orally administered. The rats were observed for signs of toxicity for 2 weeks. Introduction: Urea- and thiourea-based compound has shown a potency to be further developed as anticancer compound. Objective: Another novel phenylthiourea analog (N-(2,4-dichloro)benzoyl-N’-phenylthiourea) was synthesized through Schotten-Baumann reaction followed by the assessment of its cytotoxic activity. Methods: N-(2,4-dichloro)benzoyl-N’-phenylthiourea was synthesized using N-Phenylthiourea and 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl chloride as starting materials. Inventory management analysis for a state-level hospital pharmacy of Myanmar was conducted using ABC-VEN matrix analysis to identify the drug categories that require stringent management control. The annual expenditure of all drug items managed by pharmacy department for the years 2016 and 2017 was analyzed and application of ABC, VEN, and ABC-VEN matrix analysis was performed. The study showed that the average annual expenditure was 288,414 USD. Of the total 297 items of medicines, 7.7% (23), 16.8% (50), and 75.4% (224) were classified as A, B, and C category items, respectively, accounting for 70.4%, 19.7%, and 9.9% of drug expenditure. …

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) has been affecting the swine industry, especially in suckling pigs with a high mortality rate. Among all the strategies to overcome PEDV, boosting mucosal immunity in the pig intestines through oral administration appears to be more efficient than other routes. Introduction and objective: Since 2020, little is known about neutralizing antibody (NAb) responses to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), a novel coronavirus emerging and causing COVID-19 in humans. Here, we established a plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) to use as a method for detecting functional NAbs to SARS-CoV-2.
