Glume Blotch Of Wheat, Department Of Agriculture, Western Australia
Glume Blotch Of Wheat, Department Of Agriculture, Western Australia
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
Glume blotch on wheat crops is seen frequently in some areas of Western Australia and was particularly severe in the West Midlands in 1971.
The disease is caused by the fungus Septoria nodorum which infects the leaves, stems and heads of the wheat plant.
Pharmacological Effects Of A Bufadienolide Isolated From The Toad Bufo Boreas Halophilus, Roy Gordon Knickelbein
Pharmacological Effects Of A Bufadienolide Isolated From The Toad Bufo Boreas Halophilus, Roy Gordon Knickelbein
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
For centuries, men have known that the skin of toads and other amphibians possess pharmacologically active compounds (Abel and Nacht,1911;Chen and Jensen,1929;Chen and Kovarikova,1967).All amphibians produce toxins in glands scattered over the skin .Many anuran amphibians have parotoid glands located on the lateral ,anterior ldorsal surface which are apparently specialized for the secretion of large quantities of toxin. W'eiss(1899) and Muhse(1909) describe the histology of these glands.

The Pharmacology Of Rodenticides, S. A. Peoples
The Pharmacology Of Rodenticides, S. A. Peoples
Vertebrate Pest Conference Proceedings: 4th (1970)
The compounds used as rodenticides are tremendously varied in their chemical structure and mechanism of action. With a few exceptions, these agents are generally poisonous to all animals, including man, and a great deal of study has been directed to their toxicity in animals other than rodents. However, the development of new compounds as Norbormide and certain antifertility drugs which are highly selective in their action may justify the hope that the ideal rodenticide free of secondary toxic hazards will soon be available. Until this happy announcement is made, a review of the pharmacology of the older compounds is in …

The Studies Of Bael Gum : A Natural Plant Hydrocolloid Part 1 : Extraction And Purification, Physical-Chemical Tests, Determination Of Chemical Composition.(การศึกษายางมะตูม สารเมือกจากธรรมช..., R. Bavovada, P. Pithayanukul
The Thai Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Bael gum about 2.1% was extracted from the gummy or mucous substance which was found around the seed of unripe or half-ripe bael fruits (Aegle marmelos). The gum appears to be water-soluble and the chemical composition is polysaccharide. Acid hydrolysis ...
Application Of Knowledge Of Medications By Senior Students In A Selected School Of Nursing, Patricia H. Okimi
Application Of Knowledge Of Medications By Senior Students In A Selected School Of Nursing, Patricia H. Okimi
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
The problem arose from the need to study the present method of pharmacology instruction in a selected school of nursing. "How much knowledge of medications do selected senior students have, and how do they apply their knowledge in the administration of medications?"
For this study, the normative survey approach was used as the method of research. Eleven senior students of nursing engaged in the administration of medications, as team leaders, were observed and questioned on two different occasions during one quarter of their school year. The tool of research used to collect data was an observation code sheet developed for …

Spraying Guide For The Control Of Pests And Diseases Of Fruit Trees, Department Of Agriculture, Western Australia
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
THE following guide for the spraying of fruit trees has been prepared as a ready reference for fruit growers and as a seasonal reminder of control measures necessary to deal with orchard pests and diseases.
The charts have been kept as brief as possible consistent with supplying details of recommended materials, concentrations and time of application, and growers should comsult Departmental leaflets or Departmental officers for more detailed information.
Pharmacological Studies Of Antidiabetic Chinese Herbs, Mun Fa Lee
Pharmacological Studies Of Antidiabetic Chinese Herbs, Mun Fa Lee
Loma Linda University Electronic Theses, Dissertations & Projects
Rehmannia glutinosa, Atractylus ovata, and Polygonatum chinense have all been employed by the Chinese as oral antidiabetic agents and reported by Min (1928), Kin (1931), and Li et al. (1936) to possess hypoglycemic activity. This prompted the pharmacological studies of these herbs.
Materials and methods. Their pharmacognosy was condensed from all available Chinese and scientific literature. Preliminary chemical and physical analyses included determinations for moisture, ash, crude fat, carbohydrates, protein, phosphorus, pH, alkaloids, melting point, and spectroscopy. Employing the Somogyi-Nelson method, their glycemic activity was studied in rats, rabbits, and dogs. Stress reactions were minimized. The effect …
