Objective: To establish a rapid qualitative and quantitative method for the adulteration of Camellia seed oil. Methods: The electronic nose technology combined with chemometrics was used to screen the difference variables based on one-way ANOVA. The qualitative model for identification of adulteration types of camellia seed oil was established through principal component analysis (PCA) and discriminant analysis (DA). A quantitative model for identifying the types and degrees of camellia seed oil adulteration was established using orthogonal partial least squares (OPLS). Objective: This study aimed to provide a basis for the post-harvest storage and preservation of fresh shoots from bamboo (Chimonobambusa quadrangularis). Methods: Fresh bamboo shoots were fumigated with 500 μL/L anhydrous ethanol and 0.1 mmol/L MeJA, and distilled water was used as blank control (CK) to determine the storage period, i. e. temperature (1.0±0.3) ℃ and relative humidity (90±5)%. The respiratory intensity, hardness, browning index, soluble protein, and activity of PAL, POD, PPO and APX were detected. Objective: This study aimed to optimize the wet processing of coffee. Methods: The effects of pectinase concentration, temperature and drying method on the contents of flavor precursors and flavor substances in coffee beans were investigated. The quality ranking was obtained by grey correlation analysis and the volatile substances were analyzed. Results: There were significant differences in the contents of protein, crude fat, caffeic acid, caffeine, chlorogenic acid and volatile compounds among different pectinase concentration, temperature, sun drying and heat pump drying. Objective: In order to develop and enrich fruit wine categories and diversify sensory levels, plum and peppermint were chosen out as the main materials for fermenting a compound fruit wine. Methods: Single factor test and response surface test were used to analyze the effects of mint addition amount, initial sugar degree, initial pH value and fermentation temperature on the alcohol and quality of plum peppermint wine. Objective: Response surface methodology was used to optimize the extraction process of steroidal glycosides from Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight by complex enzymatic method, and its effects on alcohol dehydrogenase activity and human hepatoma cell HepG2 were analyzed. Methods: Four experimental factors; enzymolysis duration, temperature, compound enzyme dose and pH were used as responses to a single-factor experiment of the Response Surface Methodology on the steroidal glycoside yields, using perennial C. auriculatum as the target material. Grape seed extracts, due to its strong antioxidant activity, is commonly used as a nutritional supplement or dietary supplement. It can be used to prevent metabolic diseases such as inflammation, tumors, and atherosclerosis. This article provides an overview of the nutritional composition and biological functions of grape seed extracts, summarizes the latest research findings on the bioactive ingredients in grape seed extracts in terms of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, antimicrobial, and anti-atherosclerosis effects, and discusses the shortcomings and future research directions in grape seed extracts research.

Wheat variety performance tests are conducted each year in Arkansas by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture’s Arkansas Crop Variety Improvement Program.
The tests provide information to companies developing cultivars and marketing seed within the state and aid the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in formulating variety recommendations for small-grain producers. The tests were conducted at the Northeast Research and Extension Center at Keiser, the Vegetable Substation near Kibler, the Lon Mann Cotton Research Station near Marianna, the Pine Tree Research Station near Colt, and the Rohwer Research Station near Rohwer. To meet consumer expectations during purchasing and consumption, fresh beef must maintain desirable cherry-red color at retail and achieve desirable cooked flavor. Dry-aged beef popularity has grown, and identifying methods to ensure quality dry-aged meat is necessary to maintain demand. To understand dry-aged palatability, this dissertation addressed effects of moisture loss and aging time, fundamental factors of dry-aged beef, using bone-in and boneless strip loins. Objective: The adsorption performance and mechanism of Xanthoceras sorbifolia shell biochar activated by phosphoric acid for methylene blue was investigated in this study. Methods: With phosphoric acid as activator, the Box-Behnken center combination design was used to optimize the preparation conditions of biochar from Xanthoceras sorbifolia shell. The biochar obtained under the optimal preparation conditions was used to adsorb methylene blue in water. Methods: Taking freshwater crucian carp as the research object, Selecting phoxim, an organic phosphorus pesticide often used in agriculture, as the representative of exogenous environmental pollutants. The changes in normal physiological metabolism of crucian carp exposed to phoxim were studied by using the 1H-NMR metabonomics method combined with PCA, PLS-DA, OPLS-DA and other multivariate statistical methods. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the antioxidant properties of wheat germ protein glycosylation product. Methods: The glycation product (WGP-G) of wheat germ protein (WGP) and glucose was prepared by ultrasonic assisted moist heat method. Different ultrasonic time (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 min) and reaction temperature (70, 80 and 90 ℃) were measured. Objective: Preferred biomass hydrolysis for preparation of arabinose and its kinetic analysis during the hydrolysis process. Methods: Single factor experiment and response surface methodology were used to optimize the conditions for the preparation of arabinose from gum Arabic by dilute acid hydrolysis, and the kinetics of the hydrolysis process was studied. Results: The optimum hydrolysis conditions were as follows: reaction time 237 min, sulfuric acid concentration 0.16 mol/L, reaction temperature 91 ℃. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the residues and risk assessment of pesticides in peach gum. Methods: The quantitative analysis of 44 pesticide residues in peach gum was established based on liquid chromatography tandem-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), and the pesticide residues in 173 peach gum samples were detected as well as the risk assessment of pesticide residues. Results: The limits of detection (LOD) and the limits of quantification (LOQ) of 44 kinds of pesticides in this quantitative method were between 0.05~1.80 μg/kg and 0.20~2.42 μg/kg, respectively.
