Background: Rhizomelic chondrodysplasia punctata (RCDP) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by symptoms such as respiratory dysfunction, seizures, orthopedic issues, and neurodevelopmental delay. Background

Maternal and child undernutrition remains a major global health concern despite modest progress. Accelerating reductions in stunting and wasting will require increased investments in nutrition-sensitive interventions, which target nutrition impacts outside of the healthcare setting. This review examines the effects of four types of nutrition-sensitive interventions —cash/food transfers, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, water/sanitation/hygiene, and school nutrition— on maternal and child nutrition outcomes and dietary diversity.

Lactation support from health professionals is a crucial social determinant of health. Registered dietitians (RDs) and registered nurses (RNs) can play an important role in supporting breastfeeding, yet most have minimal formal lactation education and training. This study seeks to explore the correlates of professional breastfeeding perceived role, perceived influence, and confidence in providing lactation support among RDs and RNs. Several behavioral change theories posit that normative influences contribute to breastfeeding behaviors and disparities. Given that media has historically presented a narrow view of what is deemed normative in human milk feeding, this study describes who and what is represented in breastfeeding images available in a stock image bank, and whether differences exist based on the breastfeeding parent’s skin color. This study examined effects of grind size (n = 3; 0.65, 1.15, 1.65 mm) and brew time (n = 3; 18, 24, 30 h) on the sensory traits, consumer likability and antioxidant activity of cold brew coffee (brewed at 4 °C). Total dissolved solids were measured to evaluate extraction efficiencies. The finest grind size demonstrated significantly greater antioxidant activity than the other samples, but grind size was not a significant factor for eighteen of the nineteen assessed sensory traits nor for hedonic assessments of appearance, flavour or overall likability. In the Philippines, current laws do not guarantee paid maternity leave to workers in the informal economy.
