A
Kopf schwarz behaart, Gesicht uber den Fuhlern und Scheitel hinten mit rotbraunen Haarbuscheln versehen Backen unten dunn und lang weisshaarig. Fuhler schwarz. Thorax oben schon ziegel- bis fuchsrot behaart bis zum Hinterschildchen ist die Behaarung kurz und gleichlang, schuppenartig, am Hinterschildchen und den Metathoraxseiten lang und struppig, unterseits ist die Brust dunn silberweiss behaart. Der Hinterleib ist schwarz gefarbt mit blaulichem Schimmer, kahl, nur an den Seiten schwarz gefranst. Das I. Segment und die Basis des 2. in der Mitte sind kurz schuppenartig, vorn und seitlich etwas langer, fuchsrot behaart, wie der Thorax; der Spitzenrand des 2. Ringes ist seitlich …

Unter meinem fast ohne Ausnahme bei Bremen gesammelten Materiale von Megachile circumcincta Kirby finden sich einige Examplare, welche so sehr von dieser Art abweichen, dass es gerechtfertigt erscheint, eine neue Spezies darauf zu begruden. Schon vor einigen Jahren erschien mir ein Parchen in mehreren Merkmalen nicht mit M. circumcincta K. ubereinzusstimmen, und ich glaubte, eine neue Art zu erkennen; spatter kamen mir wieder Zweifel, und ich dachte nur eine lokale Variation vor mir zu haben.
