This purpose of this study was to examine the regulation of endothelial and neuronal nitric oxide synthase expression in the preglomerular vessels of mature and immature porcine kidneys by the increase in intracellular calcium concentration. Angiotensin II can increase intracellular calcium concentrations in two ways; either through the mobilization of intracellular calcium stores or through the influx of calcium from the extracellular fluid through calcium channels.
