Study Of Nano-Bio Interactions In Biological Fluids: Modelling And Simulations., Beatrice Cipriani
Doctoral
Nanoparticles have attracted significant interest due to their tunable properties and unique physicochemical characteristics, offering promising applications in drug delivery, biosensing, and diagnostics. Their use in medicine has the potential to reshape current paradigms by enabling more efficient, precise, and patient-centric approaches. Although advances in nanomaterial synthesis have rapidly expanded the library of available nanodevices, our understanding of the mechanisms that govern their behaviour at biological interfaces remains limited. Nanoparticles are similar in size to biomolecules found in biological environments, leading to complex, competitive interactions that affect their functional performance, biological fate, and acquired bioidentity. Unlike traditional small molecules, which …
Shedding Light On Cellular Glycolysis Pathway Kinetics: Combining Kinetic, Mechanistic Modelling Approaches With Label Free Microspectroscopic Imaging. (Spectralomics), Nitin Patil
Doctoral
Cellular metabolism and its intricate biochemical mechanisms which allow the conversion of nutrients into energy to sustain life are well understood, leading to numerous breakthroughs in science and technology, human health and wellbeing. From an industrial perspective the pathway kinetics are significant for monitoring cellular bioprocesses, screening desired metabolite phenotypes in drug discovery processes, etc.
An initial review of glycolysis pathway kinetics highlighted the lack of sophisticated approaches to monitor the metabolic pathway kinetics as a function of time in a non-destructive, non-invasive, label-free manner. Fluxomics, a metabolomics based approach providing high-throughput insights, can be considered a gold standard approach, …

Consumer uptake of a sustainable diet is critical for addressing environmental challenges and promoting public health. Understanding why consumers resist adopting sustainable eating habits can inform targeted interventions and policies. This pilot study examines whether a newly developed scale can effectively detect consumer resistance to a sustainable diet. Currently, there is a lack of research on a tool to measure consumer resistance to a sustainable diet, highlighting the need for a reliable instrument.
The aim of this study is to develop a scale, based on existing literature, to measure consumer resistance to a sustainable diet. Additionally, the study aims to …
