The biodiversity of the Specially Protected Marine Area at Foca (Turkish Aegean Sea) was studied by scuba diving during October 2008. In the framework of this study the actinarian Aiptasia mutabilis (Gravenhorst, 1831) was found for the first time in Turkish waters. This new record extends the known geographical distribution of the species.

Phylum Rotifera consists of aquatic, microscopic invertebrates inhabiting the freshwaters of the world. We report on some rotifers from the littoral zone of a pond in the University of Pune, Pune (India) (18^{°}33^'16^{"}N, 73^{°}49^´28^{"}E). A total of 13 rotifers species were found, including 5 new records to the Maharashtra state. Ptygura pedunculata (Edmondson, 1939) is reported for the first time from India and the Oriental region.

The Occurrence Of The Subgenus Microlaccobius Gentili In Turkey (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae, Laccobius), With Taxonomic Notes, Mustafa Cemal Darilmaz, Suat Kiyak

Distributional data and the chorotype of all known taxa of Turkish species of the subgenus Microlaccobius Gentili, 1974 are summarized. The taxonomic position of Laccobius gracilis persicus Gentili, 1974 is discussed and L. persicus is elevated to the level of valid species and new record for the Turkish fauna. A short identification key of Turkish species of the subgenus is also given.

The characteristic features of Oecobius rhodiensis Kritscher, 1966 and Oecobius teliger O.P.-Cambridge, 1872, which are recorded for the first time in Turkey, are presented in this paper. Identification keys for the Turkish species, digital and SEM photographs, and drawings of genitalia of the new recorded species are also given together with their zoogeographical distributions.

Four Euphorinae and Opiinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) parasitoid species, Biosteres (Chilotrichia) arenarius Stelfox, 1959, Opius (Misophthora) bulgaricus Fischer, 1959, O. (Phaedrotoma) umlalaziensis (Fischer, 1996), and Perilitus (Microctonus) cerealium Haliday, 1835 were recorded for the first time in Turkey. All species were collected from the Adıyaman province in 2004 and 2005. The general distribution and known hosts of each species are presented in this paper.

Twenty-nine species belonging to 17 genera of the subfamily Ceutorhynchinae are reported from the Central Anatolian and the Mediterranean regions of Turkey. Detailed distributions of these species in these 2 regions are given. Seventeen species are newly recorded from central Anatolia and 10 from the Mediterranean region. Datonychus urticae (Boheman, 1845) is a new record for Turkey.

During 2007-2008 survey conducted on the Turkey oak (Quercus cerris) in Isparta province Psilophrys parvulus (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea, Encyrtidae) and its host Kermes bacciformis (Hemiptera: Coccoidea, Kermesidae) represent new species records for Turkey. Previously, P. parvulus was known only from Italy where it was first recorded. The emergence behavior of this parasitoid differs from that of most scale insect parasitoids emerging from the anal opening of its host rather than chewing a hole in the scale insect's test to emerge.

Nilotonia (Manotonia) tegulata (Viets 1951), known previously from Africa and Italy, is new for the Turkish fauna. The morphological features are compared with similar species, and an identification key for subgenera of the genus Nilotonia is given. The subgenus Manotonia is also reported for the first time from Turkey.

The present study was carried out during 2006 and 2007 in a eucalyptus planted area in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. The eulophid species Quadrastichodella nova Girault (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae: Tetrastichinae) was collected on Eucalyptus spp. seed capsules for the first time in Turkey. This species induces galls on the seeds, attaining low levels of infestation. The plant species Eucalyptus camaldulensis L. (Myrtaceae) is reported as new host for Q. nova.

Otiorhynchus lederi Stierlin, 1876 (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) was detected in northeastern Anatolia. This species has been known as a parthenogenetic form so far. We found in Transcaucasus and Turkey several bisexual populations of this species for the first time and we redescribed them. O. lederi is allied to Otiorhynchus erivanensis Reitter, which was described from Armenia. Diagnostic features separating these 2 species were indicated. Both of these species are new records for the Turkish fauna. This study was carried out in order to determine parasitoid species of the family Agromyzidae (Diptera) in Diyarbakır and Mardin provinces during 2002-2004. Infested leaves with leafminer larvae were collected from both cultivated and non-cultivated plants twice a month. The adult parasitoids were obtained by rearing from infested leaves in the laboratory. Five parasitoid species belonging to the Braconidae (Hymenoptera) were found. These species, Bracon kirgisorum Telenga, 1936, Opius basalis Fischer, 1958, O. monilicornis Fischer, 1962, O. quasipulvis Fischer, 1989, O. exiguus Wesmael, 1835. This study was carried out in 2003 and 2004 in Kahramanmaraş province. Specimens were collected once a week from Kahramanmaraş province, southern Turkey, from both cultured and non-cultured plants. Before this study, 80 leafminer species had been identified in Turkey. In this study Phytoliriomyza perpusilla (Meigen, 1830), Phytomyza fallaciosa Brischke, 1881 and Phytomyza fuscula Zetterstedt, 1838 are recorded as new for the Turkish leafminer fauna. Morphological descriptions, hosts and their general distributions are given.

Water Mite (Acari, Hydrachnellae) Fauna Of Lake Çapalı, Afyon, Turkey, Yunus Ömer Boyaci, Muhli̇s Özkan

Through 10 monthly sampling, a total of 7434 water mites belonging to 24 species and 9 families from Lake Çapalı were caught and identified. Of these, Piona variabilis and Arrenurus batillifer are new records for the Turkish fauna. Besides the index of species diversity, frequency analysis and the ecological characters of the study area, constant, associated, euconstant, influent and accidental species were determined.
