This dissertation aims to design a new monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) component that may be suitable for Peruvian artisanal fishing. When it refers to suitable, it means that it should be low-cost and compatible with other MCS systems to improve the fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing. In this regard, through the triangulation among methods including the content analysis as well as interviews and questionnaires to the primary stakeholders of the Peruvian artisanal fishing, it was found that there is a direct connection between a suitable MCS and the fulfilment of the target 14.b of the Sustainable …

Fishing in Cameroon is one of the main economic activities and lifeline of the coastal communities in the South West Region of Cameroon, especially the artisanal fishing which is mostly traditional and subsistence. Cameroon fisheries are either fully exploited or are already in the critical state of over-exploitation by foreigners and local communities. However, illegal fishing and aggressive fishing practices in the marine environment has led to over exploitation of the fisheries, mangroves and environmental deterioration. Research on the Administration of EU (+ FTA) and other Fleets Involved in Aquaculture of Salmonids
t is widely acknowledged that there exists a dearth of information with regard to fleet involved in aquaculture of salmonids. To address this insufficiency, and to understand the gaps and grey areas, Transport Canada funded a project in 2017 that aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of how the Norwegian, Irish, Chile and Australian fleet involved in aquaculture of salmonids are registered and administered. The World Maritime University undertook the project, and contracted external consultants to develop and deliver reports from a number of the aforementioned jurisdictions.

Traceability and transparency in fishing and the trade of fish products has been brought to the forefront of the international fisheries policy agenda and is recognized as a core issue. Governments have awakened to the fact that IUU (illegal, unreported and unregulated) fishing has global impacts on the social, economic and ecological aspects of fisheries and therefore requires regional collaboration to combat this global issue.
