Ginseng, as a medicinal and edible plant, has ginsenosides as its core active components, which are widely applied due to their physiological functions such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities; however, their structures and activities are easily affected by food processing. During processing steps such as cleaning, steaming/boiling, and fermentation, temperature, pH, and microbial enzyme systems alter the types, contents, and stability of active components through reactions such as hydrolysis and oxidation. [Objective] To address the strong delay and nonlinearity in the Daqu fermentation process.[Methods] This study proposes a coordinated control strategy combining a Smith predictor and fuzzy proportional -integral -derivative (PID). By establishing a mathematical model of the fermentation process, the Smith predictor is used to compensate for the delay. Combined with fuzzy rules, the PID parameters are tuned online, achieving precise control of temperature and humidity.[Results] Compared with traditional and fuzzy PID control, the temperature overshoot is reduced by 23.3% and 4.7%,respectively,while the adjustment time is shortened by 15.81% and 11.53%,respectively. [Objective] To study the preservation effect of ozone on fresh peanuts.[Methods] "Four Red" fresh peanuts were used as experimental materials. Peanuts were treated with ozone at different concentrations (10,30,and 50 mg/L ) and stored at (4 ± 1) ℃ for 15 days. Edible quality, nutritional quality, and safety quality were measured every 3 days.[Results] The effects of ozone treatment on the post-harvest storage quality of fresh peanuts varied with concentration. Compared with the control group, medium-to-low concentration ozone treatment (≤30 mg/L ) effectively reduced peanut mass loss, inhibited mold development and microbial growth, maintained stable kernel color and good texture, …

In this lesson, students will build on the previous lesson (reading and analyzing the Three Sisters chapter from Braiding Sweetgrass) by experimenting on soil in their schoolyard. This study analyzed the influence of livelihood capital accessibility on the financial security and financial well-being of sheep-farming households in Wanaraja Subdistrict, Garut Regency. A quantitative approach was used through a survey with organized interviews of 95 sheep farmers. The research variables include livelihood capital accessibility (X), financial security (Z), and financial well-being (Y). Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious viral disease that may impair reproductive efficiency in dairy cattle. This study aimed to evaluate changes in the reproductive performance of Friesian Holstein crossbred dairy cows following an FMD outbreak at UPTD BPTSP and HPT Cikole, Lembang, West Java, Indonesia. A retrospective study was conducted using reproductive records collected from 2019 to 2023. The reproductive parameters analyzed were calving interval, service per conception, conception rate, service period, and first mating postpartum. One of the genetic markers for avian influenza is the Mx gene. The purposed of this study was to determine the polymorphism of the Mx gene of kampung chicken in Riau Province. A total of 61 samples from three subpopulations have been genotyped using PCR-RFLP. Allele and genotype frequencies have been calculated using PopGene. The Mx gene was amplified, producing a DNA fragment measuring 299 base pairs. This study aims to determine the optimal incubation time for goat milk kefir that produces the highest antibacterial peptides, and to determine the antibacterial activity of purified goat milk kefir. Protein levels were determined using the microassay method. Kefir, which is known to have the best incubation time for producing the highest antibacterial activity when ultrafiltered with a 10 kDa cut-off membrane, was analyzed for its molecular weight using SDS-PAGE. “Clemson Spineless” and “Jambalaya” okra were grown in a Tunnel House and field to compare yield and other growth parameters. A split-plot design with three replications/treatment was used; the Tunnel House and field were main plots, and varieties split plot. Plant height was significantly taller, and pod harvesting began two weeks earlier in the Tunnel House. Yield showed no significant differences between varieties, and Tunnel House vs. field-produced okra. However, “Clemson Spineless” produced 9% higher pod yield in the Tunnel House than “Jambalaya,” which had 23% higher field yield than “Clemson Spineless.” An enterprise budget analysis showed that Tunnel House …

This study examines the nexus between perceived and scientific weather patterns, and its effects on cereal crop production in Manyoni District; and involved 157 participants. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected through a mixed methods research approach. The data were collected through a household survey, FGDs, in-depth interviews and documentary review methods for triangulation and complementarity purposes. The quantitative data were analysed through descriptive and inferential statistics with IBM SPSS (version 27) and Microsoft Excel Office (version 2007). Utah farmers markets play a critical role in food access, small business viability, and community connection, yet limited statewide data document their impact. This study compares three machine learning approaches—Elastic Net, Principal Component Regression (PCR), and Partial Least Squares (PLS)—for variable selection and prediction within a high-dimensional Maize-GWAS framework. The goal was to accurately predict the complex polygenic trait of time to male flowering while managing the challenges of numerous, highly correlated genetic markers. The ENET model, which combines l1 and l2 penalties, delivered the highest predictive accuracy and successfully identified a select subset of the most influential genetic variants. In contrast, PCR and PLS, both utilizing dimension reduction, offered a significant advantage in computational speed and model stability. The findings confirm that …

Fermentabilitas Dan Kecernaan Ransum Domba Yang Mengandung Kulit Buah Pisang Muli (In Vitro), Iman Hernaman

Kulit buah pisang Muli memiliki potensi sebagai bahan pakan sumber serat pengganti rumput lapang, namun saat ini penggunaannya masih terbatas. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari penggunaan kulit buah pisang Muli dalam ransum terhadap fermentabilitas dan kecernaan (in vitro). Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan ransum yang mengandung 10, 20, 30, dan 40% kulit buah pisang Muli. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan Uji Duncan. Penelitian menghasilkan data yang memberi petunjuk adanya pengaruh nyata (P3yang terendah yaitu berturut-turut sebesar 161,5 mM, 66,72%, 66,15% dan 1,94 mM. Salah satu alternatif penanganan limbah padat industri pengolahan kulit yang ekonomis dan bermanfaat adalah melalui pembuatan gelatin. Penelitian pembuatan gelatin dari limbah shaving kulit kambing pikel dengan konsentrasi asam sulfat sebagai bahan perencdam telah dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi asam sulfat terhadap mutu kimia dan mendapatkan tingkat persentase konsentrasi asam sulfat terbaik. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan perlakuan 5 tingkat perendaman asam sulfat yaitu 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, dan 5%. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Umum Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Kupang.

Penelitian mulai dari Bulan November 2014–Januari 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh berbagai lama pemeraman dengan nira lontar terhadap fraksi serat kulit kopi kering, dirancang dengan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Penelitian mengenai “Pengaruh Pemberian Berbagai Dosis Curcuminoid Pada Babi Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Konversi Ransum” dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2009 sampai bulan Maret 2010 di KPBI (Koperasi Peternak Babi Indonesia), Kecamatan Cisarua, Kabupaten Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemberian dosis yang tepat serta pengaruh Curcuminoid sebagai bahan pakan feed additive terhadap kurva laju pertumbuhan dan angka konversi ransum.
