In this study, the gene frequencies of \alpha-s_1-casein, \beta-casein, \beta-lactoglobulin and \kappa-casein types were determined in the Brown Swiss cattle which were raised in Türkiye. The frequencies of \alpha-s_1-casein were determined as 0.941 and 0.059 for \alpha-s_1-Ka^B and \alpha-s_1-Ka^C, respectively. Differencies between empricla and theoretical distributions for \alpha-s_1-casein genotypes were non-significant. The frequencies of \beta-casein, were determined as 0.856, 0.134 and 0.009 for \beta-Ka^A, \beta-Ka^B and \beta-Ka^C respectively. Differencies between emprical and theoretical distributions for \beta-casein genotypes were non-significant. The frequencies of \beta-lactoglobulin, were determined as 0.497 and 0.503 for \beta-lgn^A and \beta-lgn^B, respectively. Differencies between emprical and theoretical distributions …

The Importance Of \Omega-3 Series Fatty Acids In Marine Fish Larvae Nutrition And Recent Developments, Abdurrahman Polat, Gülsün Özyurt
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
In general, marine fish larvae require \omega-3 HUFA, especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Larval growth, survival and larval activity are affected by dietary levels of essantial fatty acids. Some pathological signs, such as abnormal pigmentation, hydrops etc. and low feed conversion efficiency, poor growth, mass mortality are related to \omega-3 HUFA series fatty acids deficiency in larvae food. EPA/DHA ratio in live foods or microencapsuled diets is an important factor in larval development and survival.
