Seasonal Variation In Phenolic Constituents Of Hazelnut (Coryllus Avellana L.) And Chestnut (Castanea Sativa Mill.) Leaves And Shoots, Şükri̇ye Kurnaz Bi̇lgi̇ner
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
In this research, the seasonal variation in total phenolic contents in hazelnut and chestnut leaves and shoots was determined. In addition, the phenolic compounds extracted by aqueous alcohol or obtained by acid hydrolysis of the leaves and shoots were separated by paper chromatography (PC). The total phenolic contents of the chestnut leaves and shoots were higher than the hazelnut. In both species, the young shoots had higher total phenolic contents than one year old shoots. The total phenolic content of hazelnut leaves did not show a significant variation, but it rose up to a relatively higher level in August and …

Phosphorus Adsorption Of The Soils Of The Gaziantep Kayacık Plain, Mehmet Rifat Deri̇ci̇, Necat Ağca
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
The phosphorus adsorption characteristics of 11 widespread soil series from Gaziantep Kayacık Plain were investigated and these characteristics were evaluated with regard to various soil properties and phosphate minerals. Langmuir adsorption isotherms were used to determine the phosphorus-adsorption characteristics of the soils. The soils were equilibriated with solutions containing phosphorus at different concentrations at constant temperature, and the equilibrium phosphorus concentrations of the solution phases (C) and the amounts of adsorbed phosphorus (x/m) at these concentrations were determined. The adsorption maxima (b) and adsorption-energy coefficients (k) of the experimental soils were calculated from C and the x/m values using the …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
The aim of determining the optimal manufacturing policy is to simplify the work flow and to balance the assembly lines. In this study, alternatives manufacturing policies have determined in order to solve this troubles in a factory that produced standard furniture has complex work flow and unbalanced assembly lines. These policies were modelled using Siman simulation language. The application carried out with the aid of computer showed that performance values of 6th policy are the best suitable for furniture manufacturing in this factory.

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
In order to determine the fertility of soil and nutritional status of strawberry plants grown in the districts of Anamur and silifke, 24 soil and 37 plant samples were collected and analysed. According to the results, 33% of Anamur soils showed high salinity. However, almost all the soils from Silifke showed a non-saline character. Organic matter deficiency was detected in 25% and 67% of the soils of Anamur and silifke, respectively. Approximately 10% of soils in Anamur showed nitrogen deficiency. Both of the districts have suffered available P deficiency, but it is more serious in Silifke. In Anamur, K deficiency …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry
In this experiment, the effects of the shoot tip source on the success of in vitro micrografting in grapevine were investigated. Shoot tip meristems of Kalecik karası, Emir, Uslu, Hafızali and Razakı grape cultivars were micrografted onto the seedlings of Kober 5 BB. Shoot tip meristems were excised from either in vivo (shoots from actively growing vine in the vineyard and shoots flushed from one year-old cuttings in the greenhouse) or in vitro (shoots obtained by shoot-tip culture in aseptic conditions) sources. Plantlets micrografted on top of the decapitated seedlings were cultured in solid MS medium for two months. Consequently, …
