Using Westlaw And Lexis: The Many Ways In, Joshua Levine
Using Westlaw And Lexis: The Many Ways In, Joshua Levine
Library Staff Online Writings
Researching the law depends on finding connections between information. No case or statute exists in a vacuum. The primary advantage of using Westlaw and Lexis is that they point out, on a high level, the connections between individual resources. It is disappointing how often students use natural language search terms or basic AI queries to find all their answers. Within the limitations of class time, it is essential to teach our students as much as possible how pieces of information are connected on these platforms.

Breaking The Perpetual Social Injustice Cycle By Implementing Race-Neutral Alternatives As A Means To Create Equitable Admissions Practices In Higher Education, Jazmin B. C. Jardim-Phipps
Breaking The Perpetual Social Injustice Cycle By Implementing Race-Neutral Alternatives As A Means To Create Equitable Admissions Practices In Higher Education, Jazmin B. C. Jardim-Phipps
Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights & Social Justice
The article argues that higher education institutions can still achieve the compelling state interest of diversity while complying with the Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) rulings by replacing race-based admissions with narrowly tailored, race-neutral alternatives. It proposes a model that redefines merit and prioritizes socioeconomic and first-generation status while eliminating legacy preferences to break cycles of systemic social injustice.

Making The Most Of Limited Time, Joshua Levine
Making The Most Of Limited Time, Joshua Levine
Library Staff Online Writings
One of the biggest challenges I have encountered as an advanced legal research instructor is getting everything accomplished that I want to during a class session. The most time I have ever had to get through a class session is one hour and twenty minutes – and this includes lecturing, demonstrations, in-class exercises, and going over those exercises. In particular, it’s challenging to balance giving students enough time to complete their exercises with everything else that needs to be done.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, the legendary Hollywood actor, Morgan Freeman, expressed his distaste with AI’s use of his voice. Freeman went on to say, “I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you’re gonna do it without me, you’re robbing me.” Freeman went further and said that his lawyers “[A]re already ‘very, very busy’ tackling unauthorized artificial intelligence uses of his voice.” While that is the last we have heard from Freeman and his legal team on the matter, this article will analyze the potential legal arguments one can bring to enjoin a company’s …

Did The Dodgers Ruin Baseball? Why Mlb’S Antitrust Exemption Stands In The Way Of A More Competitive League, Jack Ross
Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal (AELJ) Blog
After the Los Angeles Dodgers’ series win over the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series, Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, remembered that, “[b]efore the season started, they said, ‘The Dodgers are ruining baseball … Let’s get four more wins and really ruin baseball. Let’s go!’” Because of this win, Roberts and the Dodgers made good on their promise by going on to win their second straight World Series. No, the Dodgers did not ruin baseball, but their dominance is representative of the growing disparity in competition between large and small-market teams.
