Extensive Addition To Library Planned, John Fallon

About the Buildings

The following day, March 30, 1859, the motion to put the Committee's plan (to found the Law School of the University of Michigan) into operation was taken from the table and passed by the Board of Regents ... At their June meeting the Regents authorized the Law Committee to purchase up to $2000 worth of law books for the new department ... And to the long projected Law Department at last became a reality. From the humble seed planted in 1859, the present Law School was to grow. Ninety five years to the very month later, the tree which grew …

The Southwestern Legal Foundation, now in its seventh year of activity, is continuing on an everfiner basis its program of outstanding educational meetings for attorneys and leading businessmen.

Legal Education In The United States, By Albert J. Harno (1953), Paul P. Ashley

Washington Law Review

This book is a history and evaluation of legal education in the United States, published for the survey of the legal profession. The writer invited a number of persons—lawyers and lay—to "advise him on the undertaking." But it is evident that the laborer was Albert J. Harno and this valuable contribution to the literature of our profession is his.
