Strategy For Predictive Control Of The Rectification Process Based On A Model Controller With A Given Forecast, Ildar Rafkatovich Sultanov Feb 2024

Strategy For Predictive Control Of The Rectification Process Based On A Model Controller With A Given Forecast, Ildar Rafkatovich Sultanov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

A method is being developed to optimize the generated controls for the multicomponent distillation process with prediction, based on predictive data with a moving horizon. The difference between this method and the classical modeling approach, in which the percentage of the degree of opening of valves installed on the output streams of the column is used as control actions, is that control occurs on the feedback principle. The proposed method is based on the use of a dynamic process model to optimize control actions in real time in order to achieve certain production targets. The essence of the MPC approach …

A Neural Network Model For Monitoring And Forecasting The Process Of Storing Oilseeds, N.A. Kabulov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The paper presents the results of research on the control, forecasting and management of the storage process of oilseeds. Vegetable oil production and energy consumption are two important factors of oilseed storage systems. The first ones should meet the needs of the population quantitatively and qualitatively. As a result, in order to properly control these two important aspects, it is necessary to maintain an appropriate microclimatic environment using a computational decision support system (DSS) that is able to adapt to changes in environmental characteristics. The multilayer perceptron neural network (MLP-NN) was developed to simulate the temperature and relative humidity profiles …

Evaluation Of Environmental Management System For Small And Medium Enterprises In Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Juma M. Matindana Feb 2024

Evaluation Of Environmental Management System For Small And Medium Enterprises In Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, Juma M. Matindana

Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)

A system that manages environmental issues of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from the time of acquisition of raw materials up to disposal of the product is not well clear, especially in Tanzania. Most of the studies have been conducted in the field of environment management but few of them address the evaluation of the management of SMEs activities with respect to the environment. Although the nature of activities of SMEs has little noticeable environmental implications at the individual level but the impact is large due to diversification and labour intensity of these SMEs. SMEs employ about 20% of the …

The PMSM drive features combining with these modern drive applications are highly nonlinear and the desired operation requirements demand high-performance control schemes with fast system response and robustness features. Linear control schemes are usually implemented to drive the PMSM that entail trade …

Cost Estimation Proxy Models For Economic Evaluations In Petroleum Projects: A Case Study From The Onshore Gas Field In The Southern Coastal Tanzania Basin, Fulmence Kaborogo Feb 2024

Cost Estimation Proxy Models For Economic Evaluations In Petroleum Projects: A Case Study From The Onshore Gas Field In The Southern Coastal Tanzania Basin, Fulmence Kaborogo

Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)

Petroleum economic evaluation involves estimating revenues from forecasted production profiles and field costs including capital expenditures (CAPEX), drilling expenses (DRILLEX), and operating expenses (OPEX). The existing cost-estimating tool requires several inputs making it time-intensive and difficult to use with few data during the early stages of projects. Majority of the previously developed time saving cost estimations proxy models rely on unrealistic assumptions that include uniform operational costs for different fields with a different number of wells, casings, and drilled depths. This work focused at developing proxy models that consider the variability of the development costs with different parameters. The developed …

Development Of Dynamic Mass-Energy-Thermodynamics Constrained Hybrid Neural Network Models For Process Systems Applications, Angan Mukherjee

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports (ETD)

First-principles models can provide very good predictions even for cases when there are no data at all, or data are limited in certain range of operating conditions, or for cases where data collection is infeasible. However, the development of accurate first-principles models for complex nonlinear dynamic systems can be time consuming, computationally expensive, and may be infeasible for certain systems due to lack of sufficient knowledge (information). It is also challenging to adapt first-principles models for time-varying systems. Furthermore, it can be difficult, if not impossible, to develop accurate models for some complex phenomena that are poorly understood. On the …

Improvement Of Calorimetric Quality Analyzers For Substances, Makhfuza Azimovna Radjabova Dec 2023

Improvement Of Calorimetric Quality Analyzers For Substances, Makhfuza Azimovna Radjabova

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

It is noted that the development of intelligent means of measuring qualitative indices is of topical importance. Since the quality of many substances is determined by optical methods, an algorithm for spectrophotometric data processing has been developed, which consists of primary data processing (stage I) and determination of qualitative indices of liquid products (stage II). Since the task of numerical determination of colour characteristics of transmittance coefficients of liquid samples is incorrectly set, it is recommended to use regularization methods of A.N.Tikhonov to improve metrological characteristics of the device. On the basis of regularization methods for solving incorrect problems, algorithms …

Modeling Of Amine-Based Co2 Capture Process, Zafar Safarovich Turakulov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

A significant factor influencing climate change is the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere as a consequence of human activities such as the combustion of fossil fuels. Climate change can be slowed down by taking action to mitigate industrial-scale CO2 emissions. Currently, the most advanced technology for capturing CO2 from industrial flue gases is the post-combustion CO2 capture based on amine absorption. However, due to the high energy penalties of existing CO2 capture technologies and insufficient carbon markets, it is necessary to develop methods that compete with these technologies or minimize their …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The article examines the dynamic characteristics of the mechanical circuit of the developed induction vibration transducer. It is found that in the investigated transducers forced oscillations occur with the frequency of the input disturbing force, the amplitude of forced oscillations does not depend on the initial conditions and time, and in forced oscillations with damping there is always a shift of the oscillation phase compared to the phase of the input disturbing force. It is shown that the induction vibration transducer reproduces the measured vibrations with small distortions only in a relatively narrow frequency region at frequencies of the input …

The quenching medium can be anything from water, a salt bath, oil, air and gas. In a vacuum furnace, pressurized gas, most frequently nitrogen (N2) gas, serves as one of the quenching mediums. One of the drawbacks of the quenching process is the distortion and dimensional change of the parts. This paper aims to investigate the influence of nitrogen gas quenching pressure on the distortion and dimensional change of aerospace actuator gear planet parts …
