Research And Simulation For Military Contests Based On Ahp And Entropy Models, Rusheng Ju, Zhengqiu Zhu, Yunxiu Zeng, Ruixian Wang, Xiaogang Qiu
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: The paper studiesthe comprehensive military contests which are held frequently among military universities. Different from the qualitative analysis methods before, an analytic hierarchy process model is set up to analyze the effects which training programs have on students. A great amount of data is put into the entropy model to analyze the rationality of AHP model. This paper also sets the effect value as the input data of the emulating model to simulate the whole exercise process before contests which can verify the results received from AHP and entropy models. Research findings are helpful for superior leaders to make …

Disturbance Rejection Based Robust Control Approach For Servo System With Backlash, Chongwei Han, Peng Chao, Zhixiang Shi, Li Zhong
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: With the rapid development of industry and science technology, the control performance requirements for servo system become higher and higher. Aiming at the servo system with backlash, a disturbance rejection based robust control approach is studied, which sees the backlash as external disturbance. It utilizes a disturbance rejection compensator to reduce the adverse effects caused by backlash, a mixed sensitivity based robust feedback controller to enhance the tracking control precision and robustness. The model of the servo system with backlash is built based on the analysis of system structure and work principle. The control principle, the robust disturbance rejection …

Research On Wind Turbine Test System Based On Jointsimulation, Zhongyue Song, Zhen Dong, Zhang Hao, Zhanqun Shi, Jiaojiao Ma
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: As the test equipment of wind turbine can not simulate wind driven exactly and the impact of environmental factors is hard to be taken into account, the simulation results have larger errors. The problem is solved by establishing the virtual test bench in the way of combined simulation. The wind speed modelis optimized by combining the fitting of probability and the combinated wind speed model to drive the wind turbine;and the settings of some relevant contact force parameters are considered, which canmake the simulation results are closer to the actual situation. The credibilityof the system isdemonstrated and the validity …

Uav Attitude Control With Lqr Controller Based On Extended State Observer, Pan Jian, Changlong Liu
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: Due to the external disturbances and parameter variations in the complex environment, the traditional linear quadratic controller (LQR) may induce instability to the controlled object. A control strategy of LQR based on extended state observer (ESO) is proposed, which aims to ensure the working reliability of the controlled object in complex environment. The nonlinear mathematical model of the quadrotor Qball-X4 is established. The ESO’s abilities of estimating and compensating the impact of internal/external disturbances simultaneously are used to improve the LQR attitude controller. Matlab/Simulink simulation and an experiment of trajectory tracking on the quadrotor Qball-X4 verify the validity …

In the current dynamic business environment, healthcare organizations are focused on improving patient satisfaction, performance, and efficiency. The healthcare industry is considered a complex system that is highly reliant of new technologies to support clinical as well as business processes. Robotics is one of such technologies that is considered to have the potential to increase efficiency in a wide range of clinical services. Although the use of robotics in healthcare is at the early stages of adoption, some studies have shown the capacity of this technology to improve precision, accessibility through less invasive procedures, and reduction of human error during …
Sky Surveys Scheduling Using Reinforcement Learning, Andres Felipe Alba Hernandez
Sky Surveys Scheduling Using Reinforcement Learning, Andres Felipe Alba Hernandez
Graduate Research Theses & Dissertations
Modern cosmic sky surveys (e.g., CMB S4, DES, LSST) collect a complex diversity of astronomical objects. Each of class of objects presents different requirements for observation time and sensitivity. For determining the best sequence of exposures for mapping the sky systematically, conventional scheduling methods do not optimize the use of survey time and resources. Dynamic sky survey scheduling is an NP-hard problem that has been therefore treated primarily with heuristic methods. We present an alternative scheduling method based on reinforcement learning (RL) that aims to optimize the use of telescope resources for scheduling sky surveys.
We present an exploration of …
Collaborative Robotic Path Planning For Industrial Spraying Operations On Complex Geometries, Steven Brown
Collaborative Robotic Path Planning For Industrial Spraying Operations On Complex Geometries, Steven Brown
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Implementation of automated robotic solutions for complex tasks currently faces a few major hurdles. For instance, lack of effective sensing and task variability – especially in high-mix/low-volume processes – creates too much uncertainty to reliably hard-code a robotic work cell. Current collaborative frameworks generally focus on integrating the sensing required for a physically collaborative implementation. While this paradigm has proven effective for mitigating uncertainty by mixing human cognitive function and fine motor skills with robotic strength and repeatability, there are many instances where physical interaction is impractical but human reasoning and task knowledge is still needed. The proposed framework consists …

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
With the rapid development of cloud computing, artificial intelligence technologies and big data applications, data centers have become widely deployed. High density IT equipment in data centers consumes a lot of electrical power, and makes data center a hungry monster of energy consumption. To solve this problem, renewable energy is increasingly integrated into data center power provisioning systems. Compared to the traditional power supply methods, renewable energy has its unique characteristics, such as intermittency and randomness. When renewable energy supplies power to the data center industrial park, this kind of power supply not only has negative effects on the normal …

Credit Assignment For Collective Multiagent Rl With Global Rewards, Duc Thien Nguyen, Akshat Kumar, Hoong Chuin Lau
Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
Scaling decision theoretic planning to large multiagent systems is challenging due to uncertainty and partial observability in the environment. We focus on a multiagent planning model subclass, relevant to urban settings, where agent interactions are dependent on their collective influence'' on each other, rather than their identities. Unlike previous work, we address a general setting where system reward is not decomposable among agents. We develop collective actor-critic RL approaches for this setting, and address the problem of multiagent credit assignment, and computing low variance policy gradient estimates that result in faster convergence to high quality solutions. We also develop difference …

Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems
With the increasing proportion of renewable energy in microgrids (MGs), its stochastic fluctuation of output power has posed challenges to system safety and operation, especially frequency stability. Virtual synchronous generator (VSG) technology, as one effectivemethod, was used to smoothen frequency fluctuation and improve the system's dynamic performance, which can simulate the inertia and damping of the traditional synchronous generator. This study outlines the integration of VSG-controlled energy storage systems (ESSs) and traditional synchronous generators so they jointly participate in secondary frequency regulation in an independent MG. Firstly, a new uncertain state-space model for secondary frequency control is established, considering the measurement …

Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: At present, the research on the channel capacity of diffusion-based molecular communication (DBMC) model is very limited. In the slotted point to point communication scenario, considering all the inter-symbol interferences from all the previous time slots, the optimal decisive threshold is provided by using the criterion of minimum average error probability in the detection process for the receiver nanomachine, and the mutual information expression is derived in DBMC model. Thus channel capacity of this model is analyzed. The simulation results show that the different parameters have important influences on the channel capacity. Compared to the existed point to point …

Graph data can clearly reflect the similarity relationship between objects. According to the distance of the data objects, the feature space data are modeled as graph data by iteration. Cluster analysis based on modularity is carried out on the modeling graph data. The two-dimensional visualization of non-spherical-shape distribution data cluster and result is achieved. The concept of credibility of the clustering result is proposed, and a method is proposed, …
