Coal Geology & Exploration
The mining and depletion of coal resources have a certain degree of impact on the environment and population of the coal mining area. Confronted with the resources and environment problems, China strongly advocates the construction of green mines, requiring that mine exploitation must be within resources and environment carrying capacity. With the support of multi-source data (Landsat 8, GF-2, etc.) and socio-economic statistics data, Analytic Hierarchy Process was used to construct an index system for evaluating resources and environment carrying capacity of the mining area in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia from two aspects of the carrying background and the carrying statu. …
Techniques Of Double-Pipe And Double-Acting Directional Drilling With Air In Broken And Soft Coal Seams In Underground Coal Mines, Wang Li
Coal Geology & Exploration
In the broken and soft coal seam drilling, the outburst and collapse of the hole occur easily, resulting in shallow drilling depth and low rate of hole forming, which seriously restrict the efficient gas control in the broken and soft coal seam. With the rise of gas control models, such as replacing roadway with holes and progressive drainage of the broken and soft coal seam, higher requests have been put forward to the gas drainage hole. The further improvement of the drilling depth, drilling accuracy and hole forming rate of the broken and soft coal seam can meet the needs …

Influence Of Fracture Types Of Main Roof On The Stability Of Surrounding Rock Of The Gob-Side Coal-Rock Roadway In Inclined Coal Seams And Its Engineering Application, Gao Lin, Liu Pengze, Zhang Pandong, Wu Guiyi, Kang Xiangtao
Coal Geology & Exploration
Due to the asymmetry and heterogeneity of surrounding rock structure, the surrounding rock of the gob-side coal-rock roadway in inclined coal seams presents more serious deformation and failure under the influence of driving and mining. To reveal the influence of different main roof fracture types on the stability of surrounding rock of the gob-side coal-rock roadway in inclined coal seams, the deformation characteristics of surrounding rock under four main roof fracture types of this kind of roadway are studied by numerical simulation. The results show that the influence degree from highest to lowest of the position of the fracture line …

Coal Geology & Exploration
The overburden thickness and conductivity can affect transient electromagnetic response in shallow subsurface investigation. In order to further verify the overburden detection effect with a conical source device, combining all-time apparent resistivity conversion of transient electromagnetic field, the electromagnetic response characteristics of the underlying strata influenced by the overburden was studied by introducing an Occam inversion with stratum information constraints. The results indicate that electromagnetic response intensity of the target layer is related to the resistivity ratio of the overburden to the target layer. With the overburden resistivity gradually increasing, the resistivity fitting degree between inversed data and real value …

Coal and gas outburst is one of the geological disasters that seriously threaten coal mine safety production, and its main disaster forms are gas suffocation, impact and burial of pulverized coal. In this paper, the coal and gas outburst experiments under different gas pressures were carried out using the self-developed multi-functional test system for coal and gas outburst simulation. The results show that the gas entrains the pulverized coal and sprays into the roadway in a jet shape after the outburst is triggered. The gas expansion energy is under the pressure of 0.35 MPa and the initial acceleration of outburst …

Working face modeling generally obtains the actual distribution of the working face through detection methods such as three-dimensional seismic, tunnel and borehole surveys, and then it establishes the corresponding model using interpolation algorithms. During the modeling process, sampling data are the foundation and interpolation is the necessary way to realize the working face model. The interpolation algorithm and the amount of sampled data affect the accuracy of the face model to varying degrees. Quantitative research on the factors affecting the accuracy of the face model will provide important reference value for the optimization of the interpolation algorithm and the amount …

Coal Geology & Exploration
“The ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin” has now been upgraded to a major national strategy. The bends area (the “几” shaped area, also known as the Jiziwan area) is an important part of the Yellow River Basin, and it is also an important gathering area of China’s coal energy. Now the region has six large modern coal bases, coal production accounts for about 40% of the country, in China’s energy security supply security occupies the “ballast” position. However, the region is located in the western arid-semi-arid region, with fragile ecological environment and poor anti-disturbance ability, …

It is particularly important to improve resource utilization efficiency against the background of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, but the natural coke has not been paid enough attention for a long time. The natural coke is abundant in China and is often found in the mining of coal mines in neighboring areas of Shandong, Henan and Anhui provinces. Due to the intrusion of magmatic rock, the original coal seam is baked and transformed into natural coke. In this study, samples of natural coke from various areas were collected to study its macroscopic and microscopic characteristics. The industrial analysis, geochemical parameters, …

Nanopore Structure And Surface Roughness In Brittle Tectonically Deformed Coals Explored By Atomic Force Microscopy, Zhang Ningyuan, Yao Suping
Coal Geology & Exploration
The pore structure of coal is the key to coalbed methane (CBM) exploration and exploitation, and coal mining safety. Compared to primary coals, tectonically deformed coals (TDCs) have stronger heterogeneity and are of great importance in coal reservoir study. Here, the pore structure and surface roughness of brittle TDCs were obtained with atomic force microscopy (AFM) and NanoScope Analysis and Gwyddion software. The results show that tectonic deformation generally promotes the pore development in brittle TDCs, but the extent of tectonic impact varies greatly among different brittle TDCs. As a result, two stages in brittle TDCs were identified: weak brittle …

The appropriate setting width of the waterproof coal pillars is an important measure to prevent water inrush hazard during near fault mining. The working face 123up01(south) of Jining No.3 Coal Mine in Shandong Province is adjacent to F8 fault in the west. The fall of F8 fault is large, which may be conducted with the Ordovician limestone aquifer at the bottom. To ensure the safe mining in the working face, it is necessary to calculate the size of waterproof coal pillars of fault F8. In view of the actual occurrence of coal strata, the spatial relationship between fault …
