Development Of An Augmented Reality Based Facility Layout Planning And Optimization, Tan Chee Hau
Development Of An Augmented Reality Based Facility Layout Planning And Optimization, Tan Chee Hau
Student Works (2020-2029)
This study presents an augmented reality (AR) based facility layout planning (FLP) system with an optimization algorithm to assist facility layout designers in decision making. AR is a technology that blends virtual data such as 3 Dimensional (3D) model into the actual world. FLP is about the allocation of facilities to achieve smooth, efficient and effective processes. FLP’s research can be divided into the procedural approach, algorithmic approach, Virtual Reality (VR) and AR-based approaches. AR-based FLP effectively addressed the traditional FLP issues such as facilitating the addition of a new machine in an existing production floor, rearrangement of machines’ sequence, …
Fluid Flow Analysis Of Low-Altitute Agricultural Uav Pesticide Spraying Device, Dan Han
Fluid Flow Analysis Of Low-Altitute Agricultural Uav Pesticide Spraying Device, Dan Han
Student Works (2020-2029)
The nozzle is an important part of the drone pesticide spraying device. The quality of the nozzle directly affects the atomization performance. Fan nozzles are widely used in the field of plant protection in agriculture, forestry, pest control, and weed removal. When using drones to spray pesticides, the spraying velocity, the spraying range of the pesticides, and the atomized particle size are all key factors that directly affect the efficiency of pesticide use. This paper uses SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS software to design and simulate. The boundary conditions are kept the same, and the influence of the nozzle's grooving angle (α), …
Analysis Of One Way Valve Mechanism For Wings Of A Flapping Drone, Xinchen Deng
Analysis Of One Way Valve Mechanism For Wings Of A Flapping Drone, Xinchen Deng
Student Works (2020-2029)
The flapping drone is one type of MAVs which is defined as a miniature unmanned aerial vehicle that is inspired by flying birds and insects. Flapping wings can make a perfect combination of thrust and lift by flapping up and down with full usage of unsteady air. The flapping drone has the advantages of high maneuverability and a special lift generation mechanism. Compared with rotary-wing or fixed-wing MAV, it is smaller, lighter, and has higher flight performance. It can quickly change the flight direction and flight speed by control the flapping frequency and it is the only flight mode that …
A Computational Study Of Water Mobility On Smooth Surface, Cavities And Porous Structure With Hydrophilic And Hydrophobic Coatings, Kok Wee Yong
Student Works (2020-2029)
This research focus on water mobility and discovers a new phenomenon where droplet accelerates on a hydrophilic cavity surface when sliding down from a hydrophobic surface. The kinetic energy of droplet increases six (6) times higher than before sliding into the first cavity. This finding is useful for creating an effective way of filling liquids into cavities for passive microfluidics related devices. The work consists of validating cases using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. The first part of the research reviews the literature regarding CFD modelling of a water droplet (i) sliding down on a surface, (ii) detachment in a …
Modeling Of Heavy Vehicle Braking Related To Accident Reconstruction For A Range Of Vehicle And Road Characteristics, Zamzamzadeh Mahdieh
Modeling Of Heavy Vehicle Braking Related To Accident Reconstruction For A Range Of Vehicle And Road Characteristics, Zamzamzadeh Mahdieh
Student Works (2020-2029)
In today's heavy-vehicle accidents, one of the major contributors is emergency braking, particularly for vehicles without an anti-lock braking system (ABS), which is dominant in developing countries like Malaysia. As the heavy vehicle driver applies emergency braking, there is a high chance of wheel lock-up, at which point the vehicle will skid along the road, creating braking marks from the tires. These braking marks are often used in crash reconstructions. Braking marks are mainly used by investigators to examine the vehicle's pre-impact velocity. There are many models and formulations based on kinetic energy that show the effect of some parameters. …
Heat Transfer Analysis Of A Data Centre, Arumainathan Kabildev
Heat Transfer Analysis Of A Data Centre, Arumainathan Kabildev
Student Works (2020-2029)
Data centres are an integral part of networking as it houses servers that facilitate incoming and outgoing data flow. A resolute cooling approach is needed to overcome the hot air dissipated by these servers. This research focused on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of the heat transfer modelled upon Telekom Malaysia (TM) City’s data centre 3. The simulation was carried out to ascertain the heat distribution across the data centre by using ANSYS Fluent. The results indicated that the server racks’ inlet temperature reaches 29.79 oC, which is close to the maximum permissible limit according to recommendations provided by …
Design And Development Of A Robotic Platform For General Neurosurgical Procedures, Mehbodniya Amir Hossein
Design And Development Of A Robotic Platform For General Neurosurgical Procedures, Mehbodniya Amir Hossein
Student Works (2020-2029)
For the first time in 1985, robots were introduced to the neurosurgical operating rooms. Since then this field of robotics have advanced with new technologies with better accuracy and safety. However, developing robots for neurosurgery is a challenging task due to the sensitive nature of these applications and additionally their high cost of development. A typical neurosurgical robot costs millions of dollars in 2018, even though the costs of components and calculations have been lowered tremendously. This is mainly due to focus of current neurosurgical robots on few highly precise and specific surgical tasks which makes their use limited. In …
