Perceived Importance Of National Occupational Cadd Skill Standards Among Faculty Of Nait Accredited Institutions, Ronald Shava Jan 2005

Perceived Importance Of National Occupational Cadd Skill Standards Among Faculty Of Nait Accredited Institutions, Ronald Shava

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

This study presents a descriptive survey that examined the importance and relevance of National Occupational CARD Skills based on the perceptions of faculty teaching at National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT) accredited institutions. The major goal of the study was to determine what National Occupational CADD Skill Standards are relevant and important to faculty teaching CARD courses. The study was also designed to determine ratings of the perceived importance and relevance of National Occupational CADD Skill Standards by faculty teaching CADD courses at NAIT accredited institutions based on their area of specialization, professional ranking, and teaching experience. This study provided …

Comparison Of Rapid Prototyping Systems For Implementation Into The Product Development Cycle, Daniel S. Koenig Apr 1995

Comparison Of Rapid Prototyping Systems For Implementation Into The Product Development Cycle, Daniel S. Koenig

Graduate Research Papers

The problems with the implementation and use of RP technology is choosing the best system from the fifteen or more RP systems commercially available and more than 20 other systems under development throughout the world (Wohlers, 1993). The problem of this study was to evaluate each of six preselected RP systems based on key characteristics. This study provides pertinent data so that those teams and individuals involved in the implementation and the use of a RP process can make sound decisions.

Toward The Optimization Of Cell Operator Productivity In Computer Integrated Manufacturing, David Leonard Gobeski Jan 1991

Toward The Optimization Of Cell Operator Productivity In Computer Integrated Manufacturing, David Leonard Gobeski

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) has been seen as the answer to maintaining the lead in American productivity. The cell operator was seen as being critical to the success of CIM. The design of the operator's job was seen as very important. As manufacturing engineers design cell jobs, including the roles and tasks, with the operators, it was believed important for the engineer to know what motivated the cell operator. However, past studies of supervisors and their subordinates have shown that supervisors are unable to predict the importance of the elements of job enrichment of the subordinates. It was questioned whether …

A Comparison Study Of Teaching Basic Drafting Concepts Using Computer-Assisted Equipment And Traditional Methods To Beginning Drafting Students At The Secondary Level, Thomas K. Farmer Jul 1988

A Comparison Study Of Teaching Basic Drafting Concepts Using Computer-Assisted Equipment And Traditional Methods To Beginning Drafting Students At The Secondary Level, Thomas K. Farmer

Graduate Research Papers

The purpose of this research was to determine if basic drafting concepts and skills can be learned by students using computer-assisted drafting equipment as well as those students who were taught using traditional drafting equipment. The two methods used in this study were a traditional style, using drafting boards with drafting machines, and the second was using computer-assisted drafting equipment (CAD).

The Cost Effectiveness Of System Response Between Mainframe And Micro Cadam, Dan Rae Teel Apr 1987

The Cost Effectiveness Of System Response Between Mainframe And Micro Cadam, Dan Rae Teel

Graduate Research Papers

The purpose of this study is to show the cost effectiveness of system response between Mainframe and Micro CADAM.

A Method For Determining What Effect Cad Has On Productivity In Gage Design Of The Process And Tool Department At The John Deere Component Works, Dan Rae Teel

Graduate Research Papers

The purpose of this study was to develop a method for determining what effect CAD has on productivity in the Gage Design area of the Process and Tool Department of the John Deere Component Works.

Entry-Level Computer Aided Design And Drafting Skills, Stephen D. Rockey Jul 1983

Entry-Level Computer Aided Design And Drafting Skills, Stephen D. Rockey

Graduate Research Papers

The purposes of the study were to:

1) determine the entry-level competencies necessary for CAD system operation, and

2) rank in order of importance the competencies identified to be necessary for entry-level CAD system operators.

Computer Aided Structural Analysis: The Finite Element Method, Richard T. Ryner Apr 1975

Computer Aided Structural Analysis: The Finite Element Method, Richard T. Ryner

Graduate Research Papers

The design process is a complex and tedious one. Within it, the task of design verification appears to require the lion's share of time, effort, and money involved.

The design formulation activity requires creative people, placed in an environment where they are able to formulate ideas which eventually become the manufactured products of an organization. This task takes up comparatively little of the time and effort of the design cycle. Therefore, it would appear that the greatest savings could be made in the design analysis task. Further, if these savings can be made earlier in the design cycle, in the …
