Analysis Of Body And Tail Of A Flapping Drone, Yuan Chai
Analysis Of Body And Tail Of A Flapping Drone, Yuan Chai
Student Works (2020-2029)
The Micro Aerial Vehicle (MAV) is a kind of unmanned aerial vehicle with a small size, which has a unique performance that larger aircrafts do not have. MAV can fly in confined spaces and perform hover, forward flight, etc. The flapping wing micro aerial vehicle is one type of flight imitates the insects (birds), which can fly based on the flapping wing. Compared with fixed-wing aircraft, the flapping wing micro aerial vehicle (FWMAV) has a smaller volume, lighter weight, and higher flight efficiency. FWMAV can be largely used in military and civil applications. In this project, the flapping drone is …
Analysis Of One Way Valve Mechanism For Wings Of A Flapping Drone, Xinchen Deng
Analysis Of One Way Valve Mechanism For Wings Of A Flapping Drone, Xinchen Deng
Student Works (2020-2029)
The flapping drone is one type of MAVs which is defined as a miniature unmanned aerial vehicle that is inspired by flying birds and insects. Flapping wings can make a perfect combination of thrust and lift by flapping up and down with full usage of unsteady air. The flapping drone has the advantages of high maneuverability and a special lift generation mechanism. Compared with rotary-wing or fixed-wing MAV, it is smaller, lighter, and has higher flight performance. It can quickly change the flight direction and flight speed by control the flapping frequency and it is the only flight mode that …
A Computational Study Of Water Mobility On Smooth Surface, Cavities And Porous Structure With Hydrophilic And Hydrophobic Coatings, Kok Wee Yong
Student Works (2020-2029)
This research focus on water mobility and discovers a new phenomenon where droplet accelerates on a hydrophilic cavity surface when sliding down from a hydrophobic surface. The kinetic energy of droplet increases six (6) times higher than before sliding into the first cavity. This finding is useful for creating an effective way of filling liquids into cavities for passive microfluidics related devices. The work consists of validating cases using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. The first part of the research reviews the literature regarding CFD modelling of a water droplet (i) sliding down on a surface, (ii) detachment in a …
Modeling Of Heavy Vehicle Braking Related To Accident Reconstruction For A Range Of Vehicle And Road Characteristics, Zamzamzadeh Mahdieh
Modeling Of Heavy Vehicle Braking Related To Accident Reconstruction For A Range Of Vehicle And Road Characteristics, Zamzamzadeh Mahdieh
Student Works (2020-2029)
In today's heavy-vehicle accidents, one of the major contributors is emergency braking, particularly for vehicles without an anti-lock braking system (ABS), which is dominant in developing countries like Malaysia. As the heavy vehicle driver applies emergency braking, there is a high chance of wheel lock-up, at which point the vehicle will skid along the road, creating braking marks from the tires. These braking marks are often used in crash reconstructions. Braking marks are mainly used by investigators to examine the vehicle's pre-impact velocity. There are many models and formulations based on kinetic energy that show the effect of some parameters. …
The Relationship Between Mental Workload And Driving Performance Of Ageing Drivers, Abd Rahman Nurul Izzah
The Relationship Between Mental Workload And Driving Performance Of Ageing Drivers, Abd Rahman Nurul Izzah
Student Works (2020-2029)
The population of ageing drivers is increasing rapidly. As ageing happened, they are exposed to disabilities due to degenerative processes, thus affecting their driving performance. For changes in driving method or design to occur, ageing drivers’ driving tasks need to be monitored, designed and tested. Comprehensive research needs to be conducted to investigate how to integrate mental workload with driving performance of ageing people. Moreover, there has been no study yet that develop a model to predict overall driving performance in Malaysia. Hence, the main objective of this study is to develop and validate a model which quantifies the mental …
Hybrid Non-Destructive Assessment For Flow Induced Vibration Piping Systems Using Coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction, Keen Kuan Kong
Hybrid Non-Destructive Assessment For Flow Induced Vibration Piping Systems Using Coupled Fluid-Structure Interaction, Keen Kuan Kong
Student Works (2020-2029)
Pipelines and piping systems are of great importance in many industries such as water supply, petroleum and petrochemicals and nuclear power generation. They provide transport for high-velocity pressurized fluids operating under time-varying conditions. They are required to operate non-stop for a schedule of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Piping vibration failures have been one of the major causes of downtime, fires and explosions in industrial plant over the past 30 years. Failure of piping systems can have disastrous effects, leading to injuries and fatalities as well as to substantial cost to industry and the environment. Flow-induced vibration …
Kinematic Analysis Of Forehand Drop Shot And Long Shot Services In Table Tennis, Ibrahim Norzuria
Kinematic Analysis Of Forehand Drop Shot And Long Shot Services In Table Tennis, Ibrahim Norzuria
Student Works (2020-2029)
Table tennis is one of the most widely played sports in the world. A frequent hand movement is compulsory to execute stroke than other limbs, especially the projection of racket and ball speeds, which can help to improve players’ performance. Until now, research on table tennis serving is limited. Service was assumed important in table tennis because the effective serve may allow the serving player to have advantage and control over the game. The 3D dynamic analysis is the appropriate method to analyze a sport activity such as table tennis. Therefore, the aim of research was to determine the kinematic involved …
