"The problem to be investigated in this thesis is that of periodic heat flow in a semi-infinite solid. Periodic flow means that heat flow is a continuous function of time and repeats itself at regular intervals. A semi-infinite solid is one which is bounded by one and only one plane. "Automobiles of today have been so constructed that greater speeds under safer conditions now exist. One of the improvements has been the low pressure tire. These tires carrying less pressure necessitates a casing of greater volume. This has created a tire of greater thickness in the axial direction but at the same time has decreased the diameter.
