Final Design Report Of The Design Of A Climate Controlled Sleeping Chamber For Infants And Toddlers, Jennifer Stenger Stevens
Final Design Report Of The Design Of A Climate Controlled Sleeping Chamber For Infants And Toddlers, Jennifer Stenger Stevens
Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects
A climate controlled sleeping chamber, or air crib, for infants and toddlers is an alternative sleeping medium to the conventional crib. It is a chamber that is ventilated with air that is temperature and humidity controlled to provide an optimum sleeping environment for young children, ages 0 to 2 years. Its purpose is to enhance the psychological and physiological development of young children. Because it is easier to heat a small chamber than larger living quarters, the air crib also has economic advantages.
The design o climate controlled sleeping chamber must meet some minimum requirements. The system must provide an …
A Thermal Energy Storage Tank Model For Solar Heating, Robert Arthur Pate
A Thermal Energy Storage Tank Model For Solar Heating, Robert Arthur Pate
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The results of a combined theoretical and experimental study of the kinetics of a hot-liquid energy-storage tank are presented. A physical model is developed which accurately describes the thermal stratification behavior in a storage tank. The governing differential equations are developed for the physical model. A numerical solution to the system of equations is presented. Some existing models were examined and the predicted results of each are discussed. The concepts developed can be used to predict the thermal stratification behavior in a storage tank under most conceivable operating conditions. These conditions include flow configurations at the top and the bottom …
The Formation And Properties Of Machining Burrs, Laroux K. Gillespie
The Formation And Properties Of Machining Burrs, Laroux K. Gillespie
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
The formation of burrs in Machining Operations occurs by three Basic Mechanisms:
1) Lateral Extrusion of material
2) Bending of the chip
3) Tearing of the chip form the workpiece
Each of these mechanisms has been studied analytically and compared to experimental results. The agreement between predictions and measurements has been found to be close.
Drilling, milling, grinding, and turning burrs were produced in 303Se stainless steel and their properties were related to tool geometry, feedrates, and depth of cut. One thousand measurements were made and subsequently analyzed by analysis of variance techniques. The properties measured include burr length and …
