Analysis Of Influence Of Cable Clamp Slippage On Internal Force And Alignment Of Main Cable, Zhu Kun, Liao Dinghui, Hu Chengze, Shen Heshun, Cao Hongyou

Journal of China & Foreign Highway

To investigate the influence of cable clamp slippage on alignment and internal force of the main cable, a theoretical analysis method based on node coordinates of the main cable after cable clamp slippage was proposed in this paper. Based on segmented catenary theory, the influence of hanger inclination caused by hanger slippage on the horizontal force of the main cable was considered. The segmental cable element of the main cable was equivalently expressed as expressions of hanger tension and unstressed length. With total unstressed length kept constant as a control condition, the horizontal force of the main cable was iteratively …

Key Construction Technologies For Single-Tower Rotating-Cable Suspension Bridges With Steel Truss Girders In Mountainous Regions, Gao Shuangjian, Zhang Weichao, Fu Lihong, Zhu Shuo

Journal of China & Foreign Highway

Given the problems of narrow construction sites, difficult construction organization, and high safety and quality risks faced in the construction of bridges in steep canyon regions of mountainous areas, this paper carried out research on key technologies for bridge construction in mountainous areas based on the Yellow River Three Gorges Bridge of the Jiyuan‒Xin’an Expressway. For the excavation of deep and large anchorage foundation pits in mountainous areas, a technical scheme of “loosening controlled blasting combined mainly with mechanical excavation and supplemented by manual excavation” was adopted. As this project is a single-tower single-span ground-anchored rotating-cable suspension bridge, the technologies …

Journal of China & Foreign Highway

Large-span and narrow suspension bridges featuring flexible structures and low overall stiffness have prominent wind resistance problems. Structural static and dynamic stiffness is the basic parameter for wind resistance of long-span bridges. By taking a large-span and narrow suspension bridge as the research project, this paper comparatively analyzed the effects of parameters such as stiffened girder stiffness, main cable span ratio, main cable spacing, and lifting point width on the static and dynamic stiffness based on the theory of spatial cable segmental suspension lines and three-dimensional finite element models of bridges under multi-working condition systems. The results show that the …

Selection And Design Of Anchorage For Suspension Bridge In Downhill Area Under Complex Geological Conditions, Chen Yongliang, He Shiyong, Xia Zhixian, Wu Wenxiang

Journal of China & Foreign Highway

Due to the complexities of design and construction, long-span single-tower suspension bridges are rarely applied in practice. The main bridge of the Jinsha River Bridge at Tiger Leaping Gorge adopts a 766 m single-span single-tower steel truss suspension bridge. On the Lijiang anchorage side, complex geological conditions posed significant challenges due to geological structures, while the reservoir level of the planned hydropower station created adverse hydrological conditions for waterproofing and durability of the anchorage system. The selection of an appropriate anchorage type was therefore particularly challenging. This paper first details the selection process for anchorage under complex geological conditions. It …

Finite Element Model Updating Of Long Span Suspension Bridge Based On Optimized Radial Basis Function Neural Network, Yang Wenfu, Chen Xin

Journal of China & Foreign Highway

To achieve accurate prediction and analysis of the structural behavior of long-span suspension bridges, a finite element model updating method is proposed. An optimized radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is constructed using a genetic algorithm to map the relationship between structural responses and parameters. Using structural dynamic responses as inputs, the model updating was performed on a long-span suspension bridge using both numerical simulation data and actual data from a health monitoring system. The results show that the optimized RBFNN effectively represents the functional relationship between structural responses and parameters to be updated. Model updating via the optimized RBFNN …
