In this article we will cover a study of the formation of icosahedral and decagonal phases two quasicrystals Al62,2Cu25,3Fe12,5 And Al65Ni15Co20,and the influence of oxidation in this alloy. For this purpose research used the diffraction of X-ray (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM)/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TG) .The results displayed found aspects of morphological structural as well as the surface of the two compositions of quasicrystals, these were prepared and obtained in electric arc furnaces and induction and arc. Al-Cu couples were heated to 813 K during 200, 320 and 480 hours. The heat treatment conditions caused the welding of the metals. After the mentioned conditions, it was observed the formation of two contiguous plates like (~15 to 30 micrometres, width) in parallel direction to the contact section. These plates like were chemically identified and its compositions corresponded to the h2 (CuAl) phase and to the q (CuAl2) phase of the aluminium-copper system. Udimet 520 is a low precipitation hardened nickel-based superalloy, which is made to be turbine blades at high temperature. After long-term service, the microstructure of the turbine blades could be degraded, then the mechanical properties are worse than the new ones. Excellent mechanical properties at high temperature of nickel-based superalloys brought them to extensive application in severe operating conditions. However, the great mechanical properties deteriorate after long-term exposure to high temperature and it frequently causes failure of the component e.g. cracking. Formability behavior in two grades of hot rolled low carbon weathering steel with varying nickel content i.e., SCR 1 (Fe-0.116P-0.018Ni) and SCR 2 (Fe-0.115P-0.34Ni), have been evaluated in relationship to microstructure, EBSD estimated orientation distribution function (ODF), special boundary nature, mechanical properties and formability parameters like tensile stain hardening exponent (n) and plastic anisotropy ratio (r). The alloy sample SCR 1 exhibited improved formability characteristics in terms of stain hardening exponent (n) and plastic anisotropy ratio (r). Interpenetrating phase composites (IPCs) were produced by conventional casting process, in vacuum atmosphere, using open-cell Al foams as matrix, and filled with either natural rubber or polyethylene. Mechanical properties of IPCs strongly depends on types of polymeric phases. It is found that the IPCs with polyethylene show an increase in compressive strength as well as failure strain. However, a large decrease of compressive strength is observed in the IPCs with natural rubber, as a result of cracks along the interface between Al foam and the rubber. These cracks are distributed throughout foam structure in the IPCs.

By employing a thermal field of 813 K, couples of Al with Cu were welded as consequence of the atomic diffusion. The periods of permanency inside the field were 200, 320 and 480 hours. After the periods of test, SEM observations show the formation of two contiguous plate likes (~15 to 30 micrometres, width) that they are in normal position to the concentration gradient. Corn husk is one of the agricultural residues represent abundant, inexpensive, and readily available source of renewable lignocellulosic biomass. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were extracted from corn husk by alkali and bleaching treatments followed by sulfuric acid hydrolysis treatment. The material obtained after each stage of the treatments was characterized. Morphological investigation was carried out using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). In this study, epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) with 30 mol % epoxidation (ENR-30) was first prepared from natural rubber (NR) latex via in situ performic epoxidation using 0.5 M hydrogen peroxide and 0.75 M formic acid at 50C for 4 h. The prepared ENR-30 was blended with three different loadings of carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber (XSBR) (10, 20 and 30 wt%) in the latex stage. It was used as a precursor for synthesis of sandwich-type cobalt tungstophosphate, K10[Co4(H2O)2(PW9O34)2].20H2O by reacting with cobalt chloride and potassium acetate. Cassava peroxidase (CSP) from leaves of cultivar KU50 was used as an alternative peroxidase for the electrochemical detection of thiram and thiourea.Square-wave voltammetry (SWV) incorporated with screen-printed carbon electrode was applied for the investigation of peroxidase activity. PP/soybean oil-g-chitosan binary composite, PP/hydrophobic phosphonated silica binary composite, and PP/chitosan/hydrophobic phosphonated silica ternary composite were prepared. Firstly, the preparation of soybean oil-g-chitosan was carried out by surface hydrophobicity modification of chitosan powder with soybean oil maleate and hydrophobicallyphosphonated silica was prepared by silanization of phosphonated silica with hexadecyltrimethoxysilane (an organosilane). Binary and ternary composites were prepared using a twin screw extruder. This research studies formation of thin porous TiO2 film prepared by Sol-gel process with spin coating. Polyethylene glycol with molecular weight of 6,000 g/mol (6kPEG) was used as a pore generating agent. The TiO2 film was calcination at 450C for 1 hour with different heating rate. It was found that heating rate strongly affects on morphology of TiO2 film due to grain coalescence. The lower heating rate tends to cause more coalescence resulting in coarsening of both grain and pore size. With higher heating rate, film density can be increased due to lower number of pores. Herein, we determine the elemental, structural and mineralogical characterization of samples collected in three Peruvian lagoons; likewise, we investigate the physical and chemical properties of their fractions, both clay and magnetic. These lagoons are located in the Chilca District, Cate Province, southern Lima Region, Peru; their morphology has been altered since we carried out a previous study five years ago. An electroless pre-coating process is investigated as a possible method to prevent the sandelin effect, whereby steels containing silicon reacts rapidly with zinc during galvanization. From the microstructural and kinetics analysis, it is found that nickel-phosphorus electroless pre-coatings effectively serve as barriers to the reaction between Fe and Zn during galvanization, regardless of the silicon content in the steel substrates. Correspondingly, the coating thickness of the galvanized steels can be well-controlled.

P(Py-co-FPy) were synthesized via emulsion polymerization, SDS and PSS used as surfactant and TFA as catalyst. Amounts of surfactant were vary as mole ratio of surfactant : monomer (0.25, 0.5 and 1.0). The synthesis copolymers were characterized by FTIR, SEM, particle size analyzer and four point probes. As a result of FT-IR spectra proved that the synthesized copolymers are associated with the structure of the P(Py-co-FPy). Bamboo fibers, as a raw cellulose source, were used to prepare microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) using a high speed blender at 20,000 rpm for 60 min. Nanofibers with the width of less than 100 nm were disintegrated from the fibers. MFC networks were then prepared, and embedded in poly(lactic acid) resin using a compression molding at temperature of 180 C and a pressure of 10 MPa. Mechanical properties of poly(lactic acid) composites reinforced with MFC were investigated. The interaction between MFC fibrils and PLA resin was observed. We introduce the structural characterization of the iron oxides and hydroxides in the clay fraction from soil collected in Moray terraces, Peru. It is important since these terraces are considered as a major technological advancement in agriculture in Inca Civilization times. We utilized the following: techniques of selective dissolution by dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate (DCB) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH); analytical techniques of X-ray diffractometry (XRD); and transmission Msbauer spectroscopy (TMS). Three steels viz., G22(Fe-0.072C-0.028 Si-0.20Mn-0.19P-0.38Cr-0.24Cu-0.17Ni), G32(Fe-0.072C-0.061 Si-0.23 Mn-0.19P-0.64Cr-0.14Cu) and SCOR (Fe-0.09C-0.37Si-0.42Mn-0.15P-0.37Cr-0.35Cu-0.31Ni) were made through ingot metallurgy route and hot rolled to 3 mm thick sheets. For other steels, similar corrosion rates were observed from the Tafel extrapolation study of freshly ground samples in 3.5% NaCl solution. In this studypoly(butylene succinate) (PBS) , a polymeric plasticizer, was partially replaced a conventional plasticizer, diisononyl phthalate (DINP) to avoid the plasticizer loss from poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) overtime for various service conditions and to obtain a long-term plasticizer retention in the flexible PVC products. Co-micelle emulsion templating (co-MET) technique is a new method to synthesize uniform and ordered porous silica from tetraethylortosilicate precursor using double polymer as templates. In this study, co-MET technique was conducted by varying template type (namely PEG/acrylamide and 2(acryloyloxy)N,N,Ntrimethylethanaminium chloride/acrylamide) and percentage of polymer (2.5%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% for PEG and 0.5%, 1%, 2.5%, 5%, 10% for 2(acryloyloxy)N,N,Ntrimethylethanaminium chloride). Generally, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) without the addition of plasticizer or impact modifiers is rigid and brittle. The aim of this research was to improve the mechanical properties of PVC using styrene-methyl methacrylate/styrene-butadiene compound (SMMA/SBR rubber) as an impact modifier. The compound was obtained commercially. PVC containing SMMA/SBR rubber having SMMA/SBR phrs of 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 were prepared using two-roll mill set the conditions as follows: 170 oC and 5 min. In recent years, graphene has been extensively utilized in electronic applications due to its superior electrical conductivity, high thermal conductivity and excellent mechanical properties [1, 2]. This research emphasized on the development of graphene (xGnP Grade H, XG Science, USA) filled composites based on polybenzoxazine particularly at high graphene loading (0-60wt%) [3, 4]. Dual Phase (DP) steels have been gradually used in the automotive industries because of their distinguished strength and ductility properties. Principally, microstructure of the DP steels contains defined amount of hard martensite islands dispersed in soft ferrite matrix. This microstructure characteristic and corresponding mechanical properties of the DP steels can be adjusted by heat treatment. In this work, effects of tempering temperature and time on tensile properties of DP steels were investigated. In this work amorphous silica was synthesized using sodium silicate and hydrochloric acid by precipitation according to St?ber method. A system of chemical reactions has been developed which permits the controlled growth of silica particles using two different cationic surfactants as the dispersing agents. These surfactants were cetyltrimethylammonium bromide [CTAB] and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide [DTAB]. The synthesized silicas were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX) and Dynamic light scattering (DLS).
